I used to like Dr Who. No idea why, as the writing has always been terrible. Evans, Tenent, and Smith were very good as the titular character though. The sidekicks went from meh to just outright terrible.

Didn't bother watching Capaldi, even though I love him as an actor. I heard he got utterly shit writing though. Such a shame as he wanted the role.

only saw him in sex education. he's a great actor. i'm excited for this no doubt people will make an issue about his colour but they can fuck off. it's good to see another young doctor at 29. i think matt smith was 27 when he got the role.

i only got into Doctor Who with S5 and Matt Smith. S5 + S6 were my favourites. it kinda went downhill afterwards but it was still quite enjoyable. once Chibnall came in it fucking shat the bed. I love Jodie as an actress but again these amazing actors/actressess are ruined by shitty writing. As far as companions go, Clara was the last good one. I didn't hate Bill and i do wish she got longer.

Capaldi is definitely worth watching. Yeah again he was done a major disservice but there are some really good episodes there and honestly I'll watch anything he does. The writing might be shit but his acting and presence makes up for it. Matt Smith will always be "my doctor" and I love Tennant. I guess that'd make Capaldi my #3. He was such a cool, older, badass Doctor.

the BBC really ought to take this show more serious. They can fund other shows no problem it seems but when it comes to Doctor Who it gets a shitty budget and no love.

The show is dead. They've murdered the cannon in the name of woke revisionism and the state of the writing and agenda driven casting and messaging has all but alienated most of the core fanbase and turned off viewers.

The show needs to die. Let it rest for a decade or two and then retcon the last 10-15 years out of existence for the reboot.

Anything's gotta be an improvement over the Chibnall era, and RTD brought the show back from nothing before, so the least I can do is give him the benefit of the doubt, even though I much preferred the Moffat era. With RTD back, that's a good sign. Not going to get too excited though, Ncuti was good in Sex Education but I'm not sure the whole production will recapture the magic that was pre-Chibnall reboot Dr Who as it rests on more than two peoples shoulders. I'll be excited to be proven wrong though.

Not all that familiar with the new actor, but RTD gave us Eccleston and Tennant, so he knows how to cast a good doctor.

i didn't know he was scottish! wtf lol. i'm ashamed of myself. i can usually tell straight away when someone is scottish. i can only pick up little hints of it in his interviews (only watched him an interview for the first time today). in sex education there is no hints at all. so he's the 4th scottish doctor after sylvester, tennant, and capaldi

as much as i like Jodie i can't wait for her run to end. well, more Chibnall's run. i don't really have an issue with Jodie. It will be great to have a fresh start next season.
