Why even bother with a story? It's pinball with a Metroid-theme. Do you walk up to the Star Wars pinball machine and wonder why it doesn't sum up A New Hope in mechanical ball form?

Nintendo may know how to do business and keep profits, but from gamer point of view they make very odd and unpopular deccisions with its franchises.

I said once, I will say again, Nintendo should care about having some "serious" licences and transforming Samus in a damned ball of pinball doen´t help to keep that status for Metroid among hardcore.

Bah... what I really want of them is 32 bit graphics 2D Metroid, that would be awesome.

I really hope this title will be fleshed out to a Nintendo pinball game with various themes (DK, Mario, Zelda, NES classics etc.), because I think the vertical position of the two displays is great for a pinball game, but trying to make one with a story (Samus Aran morphs into a ball to destroy her enemies... in a giant pinball table) doesn't make sense, so why limit the game to one single franchise?

Hmmm, Nintendo-themed pinball. They could call it Nintendo Pinball Legends. I like it. One of many reasons it won't happen. But what they have here looks like it's turning out well. That's probably the best we can hope for.

I agree. Instead Nintendo should be PARTNERING with Western devs to get original soft or ports of top-shelf games (id games, Take 2, etc). Just like has been said before, Nintendo is going to kill the only valuable IPs they have if they keep doing this.

Still, if there's one franchise besides Kirby and Pokemon that makes sense for pinball, it's Metroid. Certainly much moreso than Mario.
