Right now you can get a JVC HD-52Z575 52-inch Widescreen D-ILA RPTV for $2400

Here are the specs:

What I like about this TV:
3-chip 720p LCOS (no rainbows ala 1-chip DLP)
Better Blacks/Contrast than any LCD RPTV
Better Fillrate (LCD=55%, DLP=88%, LCOS=92%) meaning no screen door effect and that silky-smooth filmlike LCOS look (not for everone, But I luv it)
By July 2005 there will probably be at least one 1080p product in your pricerange...possibly from JVC, but certainly from Samsung and others (xHD3)
Wow great topic. i'm planning on getting a new tv in July 05. Do you know anything due around that time Klee that I should look at. I'm sure the new sets should have HDMI and 1080p at that time. I pretty much want the best that I can get but not spend over 2500. I think I'll probably end up going the projection route unless I can be otherwise convinced. Not so sure on LCD.
