[Insane Metal]

So... as I got home from work last night I was surprised by this thing:

It was flying around like crazy and I wanted to get it on my hands until I realized... it was laying eggs! But it was laying eggs all over the place: on the metal in my front gate, on the tires, etc. Finally it laid some eggs on a plant.

The thing is, my mom is scared to death of caterpillars, but I don't want to kill them

Does anybody know if this moth gives birth to dangerous caterpillars? Should I just kill its eggs?

Some moths have sad lives... The poor luna moth has no mouth when it emerges from its cocoon. It lives just to have sex and die...

I didn't know there were people who were afraid of moths. It reminds me of Eric Forman on That '70s Show trying to catch butterflies but being too afraid and running away.

I found a lost Luna caterpillar a few months ago and put it in a flower pot with leaves and sticks. I brought it inside and researched how to (or if I even should) care for a caterpillar/moth. Before I knew it, it was cocooning!! Within 5 minutes of finding the little guy/gal

Now it's overwintering on my porch. Can't wait

Great moth photo. I adore moths and even have a moth light setup that I use in Summer to lure them to my balcony so I can identify them.

My mum is terrified of both moths and butterflies. I'd always have to catch them and let them free outside when one got in the house. Not an easy task.

sometimes we get sphinx moths and i hate them. big as hummingbirds but clumsy as hell.
