Need help identifying this huge moth that appeared in my house last night

So... as I got home from work last night I was surprised by this thing:

It was flying around like crazy and I wanted to get it on my hands until I realized... it was laying eggs! But it was laying eggs all over the place: on the metal in my front gate, on the tires, etc. Finally it laid some eggs on a plant.

The thing is, my mom is scared to death of caterpillars, but I don't want to kill them :(

Does anybody know if this moth gives birth to dangerous caterpillars? Should I just kill its eggs?

A moth flew out of our air-con vents one night and I lost it, ran around the house, I don't know how you are so calm.

They're completely innofensive, I wanted to hold it in my hands T_T

Heh, I also found out now, it's actually a Citheronia laocoon. Even the caterpillars are harmless.

Some moths have sad lives... The poor luna moth has no mouth when it emerges from its cocoon. It lives just to have sex and die... :(

I think I'm gonna prepare a box of some sort to let them eat and grow up. The moth is gorgeous, I don't wanna kill the future moths ._.

I love moths so much.

I'm lucky enough to have seen a luna moth and a bee hawk moth within the same few days.

They are beautiful creatures

I didn't know there were people who were afraid of moths. It reminds me of Eric Forman on That '70s Show trying to catch butterflies but being too afraid and running away.

People are scared of moths?

Seriously they're some of the softest little things ever and I can never stop and think "aww it's a mo

Now I was gonna post this close-up and switch gears to "AAAHHH KILL IT KILL IT" as a joke but looking at it now, I just can't do that.

I found a lost Luna caterpillar a few months ago and put it in a flower pot with leaves and sticks. I brought it inside and researched how to (or if I even should) care for a caterpillar/moth. Before I knew it, it was cocooning!! Within 5 minutes of finding the little guy/gal

Now it's overwintering on my porch. Can't wait :)

I had the exact same moth on my front screen door this summer. Even using the door in and out it didn't move. After about four days of it not moving another moth showed up and then a day or so later there were eggs all over the brick wall next to the door.

I'll never understand gafs fear of moths. Never met anyone in real life afraid of them and don't see anywhere else online that is either. They don't bite and are just big butterflies. Weird thing to be afraid of for no real reason.
