Ok, here is the dealio.....I recently moved to a new place and am having problems with my router. I run through a cable modem connection, and at my previous residence I had my PC, Xbox, and PS2 all running happily off of it. The router is a Linksys BEFSR41 Ver 3.0. Ever since I have moved, the router won't work properly anymore. Once in awhile I can get on the internet with the router plugged in, but it also sometimes cuts out on me while online. Now if I plug my cable modem directly to my computer I can use the internet fine. This wouldn't be a problem but I also want to use my Xbox and PS2. I've tried using the reset button to no avail.

Is there some special way on configuring things? I'll take any help offered! Thanks....

As far as I am concerned, Linksys has turned to ass. You need to do what I have to do. Call their tech support line, talk to some dude (or dudette) with an Indian accent for half an hour, and then your router will work.

They tell me to fix it a different way every other week when it fucks up, right on schedule, and I can never fix it unless I call them.

Personally I am 100% done with Linksys after the events of the past three months. I hate them like I hate 9800 Pros, baby. I shall roll my dice with Netgear next time around.

Hmm. The firmware upgrade isa good idea. Have you ever gone into your router settings? 192.168.1.1 probably, password admin. Do you have your cable signal split before it reaches the modem? Although the connection works fine when you directly connect, sometimes the signal can be weakened by splitters and that can do some odd things.
