The biggest thing Fate Zero had going against it was the fact it was a 2nd season.
The next highest show on this list that was a 2nd season was 21st. A 2nd season of a show (one that had a god awful first episode!) vs a KyoAni property, the fact that the result was even that close is really all that needs to be said about what was really the best anime of the year.

You know, on reflection, this is probably the best top ten list I've seen throughout all the years that I've paid attention to the annual vote. When I say 'best' I of course mean 'list that I agree with the most'. Last year's list was damaged by the presence of Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai.

Well to use a wrestling analogy Hyouka would represent Shawn Michaels, Fate/Zero Season 2 would be Bret Hart, AnimeGAF would be Earl Hebner and the collective body of GAF as a whole as Vince McMahon.
I was about to ask who the hell actually voted for train wreck like Guilty Crown.
As difficult as it was, I held off from tactical voting. Branduil fanning the fears of Chooney being in the top ten didn't help the temptation though :lol
