I hope so. I'd love to own an HRAP EX, even after the import premium.

saw this on SRK...

*drool*

Yeah, I saw that pic too. Sooo nice. I just paid for my HRAP3 Amazon Edition, can't wait for it to come in so I can get that sucker dual modded(PS3/360 compatibility is niiiice). I figured it would come to around the same price as 1 HRAP EX... Just need to order some new buttons/top. I don't think I'm going to finish up my Fighting Stick EX anytime soon now.

Your EX2 turned out great btw, dementia

So Markman...how do you get around not having the home button on the PC Saturn pad?

And for those interested in HRAP 3, Stridjn (sp), whom Markman mentioned was selling HRAP3 and HRAP1, is getting a shipment of HRAP3 Amazon editions on the 13th.
Yeah, he emailed me back after missing his first shipment so I'm on his list this new batch. Can't wait for it to be at the house after going to Hawaii next week. :D

Spiderjericho, you just have to deal with not having one ;(

It works for fighting games such as T5DR and SC IV. You just won't have access to XMB and Home/PS button functions.

Also I'm glad people started ordering from Stridajin, he's a great seller and is doing the fighting game fans/community a big service ^_^

According to Markman, yes. The only thing is how do you get around not having the Home button?

And I'd much rather use a Saturn pad or Arcade stick than using the 360, Wii or PS3 control pads to play fighters. Gah...

Just tested it out. It works on the dashboard, but not with PS2 games... :(

Same here, ordered some Seimitsu PS-14-KN Buttons to go with it.

Also it turns out that Stridajin grew up in the same somewhat small town in NC that I currently live in.

Small World...

Hmm... that sucks...

He does say in a post above that it works with T5DR and Soul Calibur IV (and probably VF5 and other PS3 or PSN games).

Isn't there a patch that allows joysticks to be compatible with PS2/1 games? How do people use the HRAP1/2 w PS2 titles?

Anyone who ordered the HRAP 2 SA from VideoGameCenteral.com, expect the order to take a while. I placed my order the 5th and I still haven't even received an email to tell me that it has shipped. I ended up calling today to get an update. They said either today or tomorrow. So hopefully by the end of the week I will receive it. But, I guess a two week wait isn't so bad for something so rare.

So, I've been in the hunt for the Hori HRAP:EX. Of course, it's really hard to find. Pre-orders seem to be opening up and I ended up sending an email to TheRealNeoGeo on SRK for a pre-order. Just my luck, the day I email is the day the pre-orders close.

Fortunately I had a quick look at Arcade-Shock.com, lo and behold they have pre-orders! The best part, it's $129! I’ve ordered both my HRAP 2 and HRAP 3 from them. They both arrived quickly and were well packaged. I hope I’m not sounding like I work for them.

Anyhow, here’s the link: http://www.arcadeshock.com/items/pr...de-pro-ex-for-xbox-360-horixboxpro-detail.htm

The only con, it doesn't say when it will be released. I’m going to send an email tonight to find out. Enjoy!

Thanks for the HRAP EX link. I'm debating on whether I'm going to buy it or not...

I've bought like three HRAP 3s and HRAP2 in the last week...

I think I'm joystick out.

I used the PC Saturn pad on my PS3. It does work with the dashboard and PS3 games...but without the Home button...you're SOL on PS2 games.

I'm going to buy one of these and see if this alleviates the situation:

Took the dive on the Xbox 360 HRAP EX.

And Parks congrats on the purchase. The only thing...is the shipping price and the fact Play Asia doesn't pack the stick very well. I bought the HRAP 3 Amazon from them, and the box was a little roughed up.

I don't see how that converter will help a USB PC Saturn pad work for BC games X_X ?!

There's nothing that adds PS/Home button functionality to the USB pad.

I want to swap the buttons on the HRAP3:AZ when it arrives later this week. I have never done this before. This is actually the first arcade stick I have owned since the ASCII Sega Saturn stick. Anyways, I want to go ahead and order 8 buttons (or maybe 10, for aesthetics) and a matching bubble top. What should I get? Also, I have heard it is simple to swap these out, but I can't find a guide online (I've been googling for a while tonight)

Right now I am thinking of ordering (lizard lick amusements):

Seimitsu LB-39 Clear Joystick Ball Top
Seimitsu PS-14-KN Pushbutton (x8)

Can I use the PS-14 for the two top buttons as well?

Any help would be appreciated.

The two top buttons need to be 24mm, I'm not sure what the model number for those are with Seimitsu, but lizardlick should say which ones are 30mm and which are 24mm.

Just got my dual modified Tekken 5 stick from 001 earlier yesterday.

Stick:Sanwa JLF
Face Buttons:Seimitsu clear
Start select and home buttons:Sanwa

Systems:PS1 and Xbox 360 with no switch or plug ins needed
Panel art: Rendered by panda from shoryuken.com and was made to replicate the Taito viewlix panel (the same one SF4 arcades use)

It works, looks and feels great.001 is also a great guy to work with.He answered all my questions and did the mod for a great price.

I ordered a HRAP3 from PlayAsia.com this morning :D

It should arrive a few days after my copy of SL4

UPDATE:

Holy crap! Estimated delivery date, according to FEDEX tracking is tomorrow before 10:30 AM. That's 36 hours from ordering to delivery!

We'll see if that actually happens, hehe

The convertor has a PS button (along with the memory card). I'm ASSuming that they put the button to emulate the missing key on the controller. If not...oh well...it was a nice try...(and I'll have to wait until SF IV and SSFT2 HD to get a real workout).

Does the bubble top on the HRAP3 screw off? Meaning that I could switch it with another if I'd like?

Yep, it does. When you open it up, you will see that the bottom of the stick has a notch. All you need to do is put a flathead screwdriver in there and then twist.

Awesome! I ordered the following from lizardlick:

Item Name: Seimitsu PS-14-KN Pushbutton
Color: Pink
Item Number: ps14kn
Quantity: 8
Total: $31.60 USD

Item Name: Sanwa OBSF-24 Pushbutton
Color: White
Item Number: obsf24
Quantity: 2
Total: $5.00 USD

Item Name: Seimitsu LB-39 Ball Top
Color: Pink
Item Number: LB-39 Bubbletop
Quantity: 1
Total: $3.95 USD

I REALLY wanted semi-trans blue for the buttons+bubble top but they were out :( Pink will be cool with the HRAP3 Amazon though, I think!

Niiice. I love the Viewlix style.
Dual platform is also very awesome. Is there also a Home/Xbox Guide input?

Yeah theres a guide button in the back for the 360 which also works as a home button for PS3 when using a Pelican converter so I'm all set :D

It won't work that way. You already have a USB controller so it will only plug into the PS3 not the PS2/PS3 converter. :(

To my knowledge there is no USB to USB that adds a PS button as of yet... X_X

---

Caj814; nice! Akuma001 always does a great job with his mods from what I've seen... ^_^

I have a Vewlix panel here at work and I have to say from those pics, it looks really nice, the overlay helps give it the shine look...

Oops you're right. Actually, I was thinking more for the PS2 Saturn pad and the HRAP2. My bizzle.

And are the seimitsu buttons harder to install than the sanwa?

And Park is already on top of upgrading his stick...

I'm behind the curve...time to go to lizardlick...

good stuff

I bought a RAPro3 Hori stick for PS3, but I want the rouned internal instead of the square that it comes with. Is there any way I can change that rather easy?

I would prefer a rounded unless the Octagonal is better?

At the end of the day, it all depends on your play style. After having a go with the octagonal, I have a hard time using the standard four way.

Spiderjericho, has VideoGameCentral emailed you with any update on your HRAP order?

It's been six days now from the most recent email, with no new updates (I placed the order on the 5th though). I called them two days ago to see what's up and they told me the HRAP had shipped from their warehouse on the west coast. I was told that I would receive a tracking number that night or today. No tracking number and no update on the order status page. So at this point I'm left thinking that they are giving me the runaround. I think I will try and cancel the order tomorrow.

Got my HRAP2 SA today through Fedex. I think the order was missing my convertor (which I ordered it with) and the receipt. Pretty fast shipping. The packing was way better than Playasia. I'm not sure I would recommend them versus NCSX or Playasia.

Jocking my styles!?!?! Just kidding, you've got great tastes!

So I played some Tekken 5DR with the PC Saturn pad. The pad was pretty responsive and made playing the game a breeze. Too bad about the lack of PS2 support but being able to play PS3 games like MKII, SSF2T HD, SFIV, VFV, SFA (PSONE classic) and a few other titles with the Saturn pad is far more enjoyable than with the DS3 or Sixaxis.

Who is 001? I didnt think there was a way to have both the PS1 and 360 without a switch.

so can you mod the soul calibur arcade sticks well? becuase i wanna pick one up>.>

Yeah you can, but it's a bitch since the buttons are soldered directly to the pcb.

edit: what SpiderJericho said, plus if you go back a few pages, there are people here who have done it.

I've got a couple of old Namco arcade sticks from the PS1 days- are there any reliable convertors that would work with this stick on a 360?

No good converters to get a PS1 digital only arcade stick working on a 360 unfortunately.

But if you want to get rid of your Namco arcade sticks let me know, those are my favorite sticks ;)

is there anywhere i can buy/import an hrap ex2 right now? play asia os out of stock :(

Ah. I see, I see. I'll definitely keep that in mind!

My HFS EX2 should have been here today, thanks FedEx! :D I don't even have a 360, I just saw it as the best and most readily available pc-compatible (vista 64) stick for MAME. I'm looking at seimitsu buttons and a sanwa octagonal plate for it. I'm still kind of a newbie when it comes to electrical soldering, my first and only mod was replacing the opamp and capacitor on my X-fi (I felt so good when I pulled that off without a hitch :lol ).

Are there any really good guides to modding the EX2? I skimmed most of this thread, but was mostly ogling the gorgeous pictures. :3

It's been so long since I've grappled with a good arcade stick, or any stick for that matter. I haven't been able to really get into any fighting games for ages because it's so hard to find a quality stick. I can't wait for that old familiar feeling again! I just wonder why I put it off for so long.

There are some tutorials on Shoryuken.com that were very helpful to me. If you can wait until tonight, I will make one for this forum. I'm at work right now and SRK is blocked there so I can't go searching for them at this time.
