Looks full Seimitsu. Nice.
Shame it's the old HRAP mold though. HRAP-VX would be way hotter, but I guess it's not timeline appropriate. Gotta rep the Sega layout.

I'm fine with the old mold, but I wish they'd do something about that headset port at least...
Yeah, that's a definite eyesore.

I kind of want to make a custom RS stick with a 3-button layout like the arcade version :lol

Do it!

Whoa, RS stick. Shame it is not the new version. And since they went with the old form than white would be preferred. Well, shit. The XBLA port is gonna be sooner than expected if the stick is announced. I'm in for one, at the very least.

Really wasn't expecting a RS stick. Nice that is an EX-SE, though. Damn, no stick for DoDonPachi R but one for the XBLA port. Sad face.

Ugh, anybody else figure out that Hori site? Slogged through it for an hour trying to let them know my intent to preorder the RS stick but I keep ending up with an empty cart. My account info is in the system, got the confirmation email, but they never go to a payment screen.

(don't speak any japanese, just using google translate)

I think Horistore operates on a preorder system so you can only confirm your reservation at first, and they email you when you can order it. I'm not totally sure though, I don't know any Japanese.

Hmm,

I was thinking the same but I never even got a confirmation of my future "intent to preorder," just my account set-up email. Guess, I'll wait for an email in the next few months...and hopefully it went through.

Really sucks that NCS stopped offering these more limited sticks a year back. They've skipped out a few of the recent Horis. Really sucks. Maybe they will offer this one since RS is so popular in the west.

So I don't think I can resist it anymore - I absolutely love my Virtua Stick High Grade PS3 stick, but there are so many 2D fighters coming out on the 360 that I think I need to get a stick for that now as well.

I was just going to go for the SF4 Fightstick Round 2 Tournament Edition from Amazon, as I'm definitely a Sanwa/Hori man and it looks like the cheapest and most hassle-free option for getting a very high quality stick in the UK. Unless anyone has any better ideas to suggest? I can't really think of anything better I could get for around the same price and effort, plus I have a £10 voucher to spend on Amazon, so... :lol

I just read through that. Yuck. Do not listen to a few whiners who seem to not appreciate that you're bringing fighting sticks to a variety of people who wouldn't normally jump at them with the retail price. I'm certain the majority of 'normal' people are happy and wouldn't have got into fighting sticks, if you didn't have these sells during events. I am sure you've started a new addiction for countless people and you should be proud. Erm... wait.

Messy wiring in bound! Finally done with the semester... and the first thing I do is wire up a second stick with a PS360. :lol

All-Seimitsu (except the last 2 buttons, but who uses those? :P) TE w/ 12 button config -

All-Sanwa SE w/ 10 button config -

Thanks to Threi for the stylin' SE, I've been wanting another portable stick for a while ever since I gave my Namco to my brother.

That Silvergun stick is gorgeous. Can't wait for that to hit XBLA. I have wanted to play the game for 10+ years, I just hadn't been able to talk myself into paying the eBay rate for the game.

I hope so! I'm in the market for a new stick, but I'm holding out to see what's coming with MvC3.

With all these latest price-slashes on the current FightSticks, it's quite obvious a MvC3 stick is upon us.

What is the best/most priceworthy sticks for shmups and other old school 2d games? I don't play many fighting games so it doesn't have to be good for those games although I wouldn't complain if they were.

I also want the stick to work on both Xbox 360 and PC.

I bet it's still a bitch to find somewhere selling the TE stick for cheap that ships to Australia :/ Guess I'm gonna wait for the MK one instead... I'd play that more than I've ever played SF anyway.

I don't know man, the only HORI I have is the PS2 Tekken 5 stick and it's pretty clunky. It works fine but I prefer the case design of the TE. I also prefer the Sanwa buttons in the TE as opposed to Seimitsu's. It's all preference and unless you're a competitive gamer you probably aren't going to have a strong opinion either way. So if none of these means anything to you then I'd just get whatever is cheapest. I have yet to come across a 360 controller that hasn't worked with Windows XP and beyond, it's probably somewhere in the required specs.

Hey MarkMan, please don't listen to those ungrateful fuckers and continue to have sales. I appreciate them at least!

Hoping for a new TE design for MvC3 as well. I'm sure Madcatz will be doing them, even if no one can say yet. I'm not a big fan of the Type S design, the original TE design is best so far.

I need some "broken" buttons advice.

So I just recently picked up a SFIV Fightstick from a Wal-Mart sale. After playing for around 8 hours the medium kick ("forward") button has started to break on me. Just to confirm I went into practice mode and put on inputs, pushing all 3 kicks at once. Sure enough, it only works around 50% of the time.

My question is this: Will replacing that button fix the issue? I'm worried because It's a brand new fightstick with only 8 hours of wear on it. I thought these things were the only quality products that Madcatz had ever made, but my track record with the company has started to make me worry it's not just a broken button. Is it more likely that the button broke, or that the wiring is bad? I was thinking of replacing all 8 buttons with some of these -- http://www.lizardlick.com/Sanwa-30mm-Snap-In-Buttons_c_176.html (suggestions from GAF telling me that these buttons are on par with the TE stick).

It's definitely not unheard of. My original TE and the replacement Madcatz sent me both had PCB issues. If you're worried about voiding the warranty to try and fix the thing yourself, you should contact Madcatz Customer Service.

Be careful before you order that stick with the intent of using it on PC. For some reason, on this stick (note: I haven't tried the HRAP EX non-SE), the lever itself registers as a "hat switch," not normal digital input. This can potentially cause some things not to work properly.

Example: at one point I had the BB:CS rip and attempted to use the EX-SE with it. I was able to map the controls properly, but diagonals didn't work, at all. I know that is an uncommon example... I should try it with something more common, like MAME. Maybe tonight.

That button layout seems extremely odd.

It's the Mortal Kombat 3 layout, with two additional buttons on top (presumably Select & Start, or equivalents).

I wonder how possible it would be to design a stick with a more standard 6-button layout, but where the middle two buttons could be on some sort of sliding switch that could be locked/unlocked at will and moved. This way, the stick could be used for both MK and other games...you'd be able to form an X-shaped pattern by sliding the middle two buttons slightly upwards. (I wonder if the new version will use a Run button...that could present a potential problem.)

EDIT: The EX-SE works fine in MAME, so forget what I said. Based on that, I'd assume it works fine with the vast majority of games.

Isn't she lovely? 1996 Konami HYPERSTICK for the original PlayStation!

Full Seimitsu (LS-56-01 and PS-15s)...

Shout out to www.jap-sai.com - Home for helping me locate one. Shout outs to NRX for the heads up on them as well!

With THIS STICK. I only need 4 more PS1 generation arcade sticks to have a complete collection of boxed ones (to my knowledge at least)... :3

I need one.

I have the shirt to go with it :lol

wow... that is sweet... I really like that color scheme =)

I still wonder why, prior to the V3 line, they decided to release the full Seimitsu stick just for 360 and the full Sanwa stick just for PS3 in North America. It's not too difficult to mod, but still...

I'm looking to buy a stick so I can play all of my PS1 and PS2 Street Fighter collections on my PS2 proper-like. Any recommendations on what I should be looking for and where I can buy it? I'm not a DIY guy for this kind of stuff, so I just want to get the finished thing and be done with it. :lol

Man, that HRAP3 SE is so pretty. Kinda totally forgot about that one! We need shooters to come to PS3 in 2011. Hopefully companies begin to develop them for that system next year. I'd love to see Cave PS3 packaging.

You'll have to do some searching but the Hori Real Arcade Pro 2 SA is what you're looking for. Best retail/out-of-the-box stick available for PS2 (and works fine on PS1). It was recently reissued by Horistore, but as I said, it's still probably going to be a bit hard to find.
