The L1 button on my Mad Catz SF4 TE has stopped responding. Mad Catz hasn't responded to my support emails. I purchased it from amazon in August. Is it still under warranty? If not, how do I repair it?

I wonder if now is the best time to buy a TE Stick. I can't shake off the feeling that a deal might happen around EVO. And it's a damn shame Madcatz doesn't ship internationally, I would jump on the Spring deal in a heartbeat.

What country are you in? There might be a regional MC store near you.

why does the combat stick have a different layout?
It uses the most ergonomic layout for MK, imo.

Portugal. And it's really hard to find sticks here, including cheap Datel knockoffs : <
Oh bummer. Is there a regional Amazon store nearby, maybe?

I really want the MK stick but it's like sold out. I'm mad.
The actual MK stick? That's still pretty readily available. Unless you mean the TE Kombat layout thing.

I just checked Amazon.it and I think it has a good price on the Round 2 stick. And they had 10% off TE S sticks, they are sold out though. Bummer.
I need to check if they actually ship it to here, Google translator for the rescue! I had only checked Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk previously and both are dead ends for me but didn't check the others, so thanks!

None of my friends have any interest in fighting games these days. I've been accumulating fighting games for the past 4 years that have gotten less than 3 hours of play each. I'm thinking about picking up a fightstick and finally giving online play a chance. Whats a solid starter setup knowing full well that I may not get more than a few hours out of it?

I've been looking towards the Tekken 6 bundle. At $60 (with a game I do not own), it seems like a great deal. I'm just not sure about the fact that it is wireless. I don't want to spend $60 to find out it has input lag and dropped inputs.

Another problem with the Tekken stick are the lever and buttons. They kinda terribad.

SE fightsticks are kinda scarce these days, but I gess the Brawl stick has replaced them see if you can get one of those as it's a good starter stick.

It won't be as beautiful as other entries here since I prefer function rather than cosmetic mods, but here's my 3 sticks.

Here's the Trio.
Trio.jpg

1. PS3 PDP Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition
IL Eurojoystick Black (Cherry 75g switches)
PDPMK%20stick.jpg

So accurate & so quiet...

IL Competition Convex Pushbuttons Black (Cherry 75g switches)
PDPMK%20buttons.jpg

They aren't "klassic" concave, but they perfectly match the L2/R1 buttons.

The display of stick guts.

2. PS3 Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 Special Addition
HRAP3%20outside.jpg

Outside

HRAP3%20inside.jpg

Seimitsu LS-56-01 (with MS Mount plate & Octagonal restrictor)
Seimitsu LB-39 Smoke bubbletop
Seimitsu PS-14-DNC Black Pushbuttons (Start/Select)
Seimitsu PS-14-GNC Black Pushbuttons (All Others)

3. 360 MadCatz SF4 Arcade Fightstick
This stick is the lucky inheritor of all the HRAP-SA's original parts.
Sanwa JLF White balltop
Sanwa GT-Y restrictor
Sanwa OSBF-30 White Pushbuttons (All)
+Sanwa LB-30-N Bat top & adapter (for shooters)

Collection complete... until there's a hot 4-button stick for SoulCalibur V.

Shout outs to LizardLick, ParadiseArcadeShop, GamingNow(RIP), SRK Tech Talk and Tek-innovations.

Anyone know where I can get a Hori real arcade pro 3 SA for the PS3??
I know they used to be on amazon for$120 but not anymore and I can't find a store that
Has it :( Any help would be great!

anyopne ever have a problem with a wobbly base on a HRAP?

ive had this probelm on my Agetec sticks, but have usually been able to fix it by removing the plate and just trying to get it to fit better, not really working on my HRAP SE. maybe because the base is more rigid.

is SUPER fucking annoying though. i know i can stick something under one of the rubber pads to stabalize it, but thats a shitty solution.

probably no real solution except to keep taking off the base plate and fucking with it endlessly huh?

so annoying.

God damn thats an awesome stick...(no.. nevermind)

Also why doesnt gaf have a thread of paypaling and shipping sticks to those who cant jump on deals.. I guess the idea of ripping people off is to great, but i'd love to help..

Actually, it was a regular SFIV TE (I dyed the sides black)

it looks like this now:

Beautiful. I like the all black one too. How did you go about doing the wood part? Do you have any other pics of the wood one?

This thread makes me want to mod my TE stick.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Wark, the wooden side panels are from a kit they sell at focusattack.com. Look for their TE side panels. They sell a slim version too.

I'm not sure where you live, but have you looked into fight nights or gatherings in your area? There's a regional matchmaking forum on shoryuken.com if you want to find people to play with offline. There's probably a scene in your area and you don't know it!

That's a great suggestion. I'll take a look.

The T6 wireless stick isn't that great imo. WWE stick or a proper TE are a better call.

The WWE All Stars stick is good? Wow, I would have never guessed. I'll see if I can find a deal on one. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've certainly considered trying to find a proxy-person for this, but the risk is indeed something I'm weary of. I don't think having someone from the US ship one would save me any money because of the huge shipping cost, but would love to get my hands on a Marvel TE stick or the Chun-Li one through someone who has access to one of Mad Catz's Euro stores. As it stands neither are available to me as Mad Catz seem to have zero distributors here at the moment.

We are in exactly the same boat. I just bought a SFIV stick (regular one). After 20 years of playing fighting games on a d-pad I was delighted to learn that I suuuuuuck with a stick.

I jump when trying to do dragon punches and everything feels so loose. Hit me up if you're up for some practice dummy training: Sen0r MachoSolo on XBL.

Didn't know they sold a slim version. Thanks for the info. Were the wood panels hard to mount, or just simply screwing them in in place of the old side panels?

The reason the T6 stick is mediocre isn't the wireless aspect... there is no noticeable lag, and no dropped inputs. It's the fact that you're not getting arcade-grade parts. The stick comes with Hori consumer-grade parts--a stick that's just okay, and "mushy"-feeling buttons that will eventually stop working--and there's no easy way to install better parts, especially considering that the case is so small that many won't even fit.

For those looking for the MK stick...if you don't yet have the game, Newegg still has the TE in stock for $149.99 with free shipping (and no tax in most states). I don't know if they ship internationally or if it's just to the USA.

I think there is a promo at GameStop stores that have em' for $10 off the normal price.

On a recommendation from this thread I purchased this from Amazon...

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0042SB2I0/?tag=neogaf0e-20

The "surprise" feature of this converter is that it will let you use 360 controllers on the PS3. I tested it on my 360 MC SE stick and it works flawlessly.

I have a 360 MK Tournament Edition bundle coming next week and will try to see if it will work...unless someone here already tried it?

Bought 2 Chun-Li TE sticks (360 and PS3) as a result of that sale. Could not recommend them enough. Also, Sakura TE sticks that have a red or pink color scheme would be much appreciated.

Oh crap, I didn't know the sale was ending soon. I'd get another stick but the PSN debacle has left me waiting for a replacement card in the mail... Oh well.
