Okay, so focusattack.com sells plexi's but doesn't have a template yet. Where can I get a template and instructions for what size of paper to put it on at Fed Ex Office or whatever?

I'm thinking about making it either Sexy Ryu or Best Foods/Hellman's mayonnaise themd.
 
Thinking about selling my SFIV Femme Fatale Tournament stick. Only 950 of them made (600 X360, 350 PS3) and mine is dual-modded with the ChimpSMD. Any ideas on where to start for an asking price? Somebody on ebay has a non-modded PS3 femme fatale that they're asking $499 for which I'm assuming is crazy-talk. Thoughts?
 
So I'm installing my new Seimitsu LS-32-01 right now, but I have no idea how to position the stick so that up is actually up, down is down, etc!

edit: NM, I just plugged it in with the stick open.

I got a Hori wireless Tekken 6 stick. After adding some weight, (4 rolls of 24 pennies wrapped in tape...makes a world of difference) changing the gate and a few other tweaks...it's now my main stick. Ergonomically it's just perfect.

Anyway, I ripped off the art on both it, and my SE. Doing so left a sticky residue which I plan to get off with Goo Gone.

Anyway, instead of using art, I just want to paint the metal plate. I want a shiny, glossy finish that won't ever chip or rub off due to sweat, age etc.

So...exactly what type of paint should I be buying to do this? Is there a guide somewhere?

I think what you want is a clear coat to put on top of some flat color. Metal is a pretty normal surface for spraypaint, so any general guides on the internet should be applicable.
 
What do you guys think of this stick design I just made? Of course, with matching Sanwa buttons to the red, blue, and yellow colors. LB and LT are clear black rimmed/grey button seimitsus. Clear bubble ball top, clear plastic bezel (it's a TE stick round 1).

Yeah, I was thinking the last 2 looked off, but I have white stock buttons on my TE right now if the smoke ones don't work. I think white could be too distracting in contrast with the colored buttons. Still need to play around with those buttons. I'll do a photoshop mockup with white and see what it looks like.

Other than that, is the stick too plain? I kind of want a minimalist thing, but it might be TOO plain, y'know?

I've been thinking alot lately about what kind of new features future fight sticks should have and I think a USB port would be perfect.

In Tekken 6 tournaments customizations are banned since the player on the 2p side cant equip customizations. Now even if 2p customs were an option, with consoles only having 2 usb ports and those ports being occupied buy sticks/controllers no one could use their save data/customs anyway. But if we had a usb port on our stick we could stick our flash drive in and boom we are set. Im not thinking about this with only Tekken in mind. For MvC3/UMvC3 you can just load up your team from your reserve list. No more having to chose 3 characters and 3 assists individually. For Street Fighter x Tekken one of the debates about the gem system is how much time its going to take to select gems. This is especially a problem for tournament organizers. However if SFxTK has a similar system like MvC3 that allows you to save pre set teams with gems then this could cut down time considerably. Also with 4 players being able to play at once, unless your using wireless controllers then 2 more USB slots are a must. With Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown(customizations) and KOF XIII(teams, color edits) coming I think a USB port could be pretty damn awesome and very beneficial.

Obviously the games themselves have to support the feature to load from a flash drive. I believe Tekken 5 DR for PS3 has this feature so its definitely possible for all the new games coming out to include the option.

Does anyone else think this would be a good idea? Will a PS3 or 360 even be able to read data from a flash drive connected to a stick and not the console itself? Am I even making any sense?

what size paper should it be printed on? The size of the template in photoshop is 13.473 x 8.473. What size paper should I print this on? Should I just put it on a larger piece of paper and then tell them to not rescale it? Are those dimensions the exact size of some European paper size (A3 or A4 or whatever?).

WHAT DO I DO GAF?

8.5x14 paper and make sure they do not print it with any scaling at all.

It's possible, but it might be a hard sell to have it implemented on both 360 and PS3 this late in the console cycle. The 360 has a standardized prompt for choosing which device to load/save data, but it may not be possible to streamline the process enough to make it unobtrusive. In terms of hardware, it would just mean implementing a small USB hub for the joystick, which would be pretty handy.

I might suggest using a gloss for it so that the colors shine more or just use a somewhat thick stock in general. you want it to be heavy enough that it won't bend a lot but not so thick it makes the plexi sit even higher.

Markman, I've destroyed my stock 360 controller with Gears and Forza. I need a new one. What's the ETA on those MLG controllers?
 
Okay, so I made the trip to fucking Kinkos. Printed it out on legal sized card stockpaper, and it was too fucking small. It's an hour trip for me too. Ugh.

Just measured the paper, it's definitely legal sized 14 x 8.5 in. I put it into the copy machine and chose legal sized paper, and for some reason it downscaled my photo?

I saved it as a jpeg. Should I do it in another format? Should I increase the dimensions of my PSD file to exactly 14 x 8.5 inches, then put a colored border around it so I can see if it's being downscaled after it prints? Should I not save it as JPEG? This is really fucking annoying.

I would save it as a TIF or PNG with lowest compression to make sure you don't get compression artifacts on it. Otherwise you need to set the scaling option in the printer itself when printing.

I'm pretty sure JPEG level 12 in photoshop is basically no compression. I'll try other formats though too. I didn't see a scaling option on the printers at Fed Ex Office :(

Here are some key points about the SOULCALIBUR V Arcade FightStick SOUL Edition:
  • Tago-san, the producer for SOULCALIBUR V told us at E3 2011 that he wanted a stick similar to the SSFIV Chun-Li Tournament Edition FightStick. We agreed to make something similar; but to make changes/improvements that cater to the fighting game fan and of course the SOULCALIBUR fan
  • That being said, the SOUL Edition has a translucent body all around with the artwork of the Soul Edge and Soul Calibur swords tying into the case design
  • The FightStick has a new button layout and has a button mapping that is unique to SOULCALIBUR. The new button layout and stick placement is following the NAMCO NOIR arcade panel layout; this layout is most reminiscent of the classic SEGA Astro City layout
  • The bezel on the SOUL Edition FightStick is what we call the "EDGE" bezel; which helps give it more of a SOULCALIBUR look & feel
  • The SOUL Edition uses 6 stainless steel screws; we've listened to your feedback and have noted that rusty screws are not appealing
There are some other tidbits here and there; but we'll wait to reveal that as time goes on. This FightStick is slated for availability in North America, Europe and Japan.

I already have 2 TEs but... SoulCalibur is my favorite FG series... Looking forward to images of the stick, depending on how it looks I may have to buy TE #3. xD
 
Ooh, more Astro City-ish layout? Various improvements on the later model TEs? I'm game. Might pick one of these up if I get really into SCV.

The new layout and snazzy "sword" bezel look fantastic!
Not digging the red/blue mix quite as much, but I'm sure aftermarket sides will be available before too long.
 
Ugh, guess I am buying another TE a Soul Edition stick... xD Case looks great and the Astro City-like layout ultimately sold me.

I agree on this though, would prefer either matching the sides or just having the entire case be transparent-black. Would have been cool if you made one SoulEdge and one SoulCalibur design/color scheme.
