What do you like better, the VSHG or the VLX?? Which has better build quality?

Well I got the VLX first and will always appreciate its giantness, but after a couple of days I can already tell I like the VSHG more. Build quality = VSHG right off the bat, and mine was used which says a lot for the praise I'm giving it. For a retail stick it's really nice.

since I've never seen one in person, what makes them so special. i have a few HORI ones and a MadCatz Pro stick and love them all. I just always see people raving about the VSHG. can you tell me more about it?

thanks

It feels really minimal, but very sturdy and heavy. It doesn't feel cheap at all.

Your pic makes me wish I got the VLX when it was still in-stock at Amazon.ca. :/

Yea I got mine on amazon during the sale.

The thing I don't like about the VLX vs the VSHG is that the black casing portion is painted on and can wear off over time :(

Just made a MAME cabinet using the X-arcade and Xtension arcade cabinet.

Now before i get attacked, i customized the X-Arcade completely. From what i read, the X-arcade uses imitation parts that are crap, so i gutted it and bought Happ competition joysticks and HAPP transparent buttons.

My good friend and fellow GAFfer Dreweyes made a redesign for the X-arcade using a template i found online, and i fucking love it.

It was a bitch finding someone who was able to get it on, but these guys at Sign-a-Rama were total gamers and jumped at the chance to make this work. I totally owe those guys. They did a great job.

I put LED lights inside the X-arcade so whenever its on the lights glow through the transparent buttons. Looks really sweet and it plays like a dream. I got the LED lights from IKEA for $20.

does anyone with a MK TE fightstick have it working on mame? I can get the buttons to work but no such luck concerning the joystick. I am really puzzled. It works in windows but for some reasons the joystick just doesn't register - only the buttons. Any help would be appreciated.

Could it be a video card issue- some of the older Mad Catz sticks will work on NVIDIA but not AMD boards?

Another possibility (from sounds of buttons working) is that it's working as something other then the direction pad, like one of the bumpers. That should be a configuration fix of some sort.

I join that club :D
Oh I posted this in april pick up thread, Two Tekken arcade sticks:

I will post more pics when I can put them in some good place.-
I didn't have any Arcade stick since NeoGeo PlayStation 2, shame on Namco not sending this two Europe, I had to search for some kind of tricky way to get two from Namco USA. :D.
I don't know if buy two more to customize them with: http://i.imgur.com/HVdi2.jpg

i just found out that my RT and LT on my TE-S doesnt work on the xbl menus, and some pc games. the thing is that they do work on sf4 marvel, etc and even on the pc configuration screen but not on some specifics stuff. has this happened to someone else?

finally picked up a VSHG, no more sticks for me (I hope).

A bad quality iphone pic of my bad habit

That is a nice little collection...a little bit of everything. I'm sure you will buy at least another.

I found out I'm moving back to the States (Washington DC area) in December which means I'll finally be reunited with all my collection. Most of them have been sitting in storage in CA for the last two years. Can't wait!

No adhesive is used to attach the art. Panel replacement is a whole cover replacement (made out of sturdy plexiglass). Panel cover is just a plexicover.

(SORRY I FORGOT!)

lol
Thanks.

How do I know what model of buttons will fit into my stick? Is there a reference guide somewhere?

Are there any nails that the paint wont come off of? I need to replace the black nails off my chun li te-s because they turned silver, just distracts from the awesomeness.

Thanks.

Just use size as a reference. For the face buttons they are 30mm for the Start & Back/Select buttons they are 24mm.

In short, anything Sanwa/Seimitsu 24mm will fit. Snap on would be best but you can use screw ons too.

I think the 24mm in that second paragraph is extraneous, as the first already specifies both sizes are used in most sticks.

For extra reinforcement: Face buttons on sticks are 30mm.

Amazon Gold Box tomorrow during 5-7 pm will have Street Fighter X Tekken FightStick Cross/Line for $99.99

Very tempting to pick up an extra, but I kinda want one of the new Hori SCV sticks, but with a Viewlix layout. Not sure if there's another game coming to warrant them putting one out. Any chance of a generic one?

I wonder if MadCatz has any SF 25th anniversary sticks planned for later this year.

Thanks YB! I've appreciated your pick up and Arcade stick posts for a while, so the complement means a lot :)

You are probably right about buying another, maybe ONE more...maybe. Always wanted a nice premium custom stick...

Thank you for the clarification. What does the length refer to, btw? I'm guessing not button diameter if both will fit in a given spot.

That Amazon deal is nuts. I paid full price for that thing :(

It's the button diameter including the casing. You don't have to worry about getting the wrong buttons. If it's Sanwa or Seimitsu and it has a lot of colours and what not, that's what you should be getting.

They have some smaller buttons but not many stores stock them.

What do you think of the Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 SE? I think it's an amazing stick and the best one I have right now that I'm using. It has served me pretty well since I got it, which is great. It's better than the original Madcatz SF4 TE stick that I own as well.

My favorite stick as well.

Hori really doing neat releases this year! Nice the new VLX is Amazon...easy to order from with Tenso. Realistically, would this thing come to the US, or is the Diamond color scheme a little too esoteric for the west?

Best stick ever, love the astro layout

Well, if the Fighting Edge is coming to the states, it probably has the same chance.

Seimitsu is rad but I prefer them for shooting games and PS3 doesn't have that many. It' also really hard to find HRAP3 SEs :/ But yeah, they're awesome sticks.

Yeah, here:

That's kind of ugly, but at least it says Vewlix on it this time.

I'd prefer one based on the Vewlix F or Vewlix L. Those have nicer color schemes IMO.
