Get some more sakura petals on the right, of various shapes and sizes; should fill up some space.

Otherwise get some colour-related items and splash them there? Haha, who knows, up to you matey.
Awesome! I will try adding some stuff to the next version of that one
Next Design! :D

How easy is it to switch the overlay on the TE stick?

it's a thick sticker on a metal panel, you can either cover it up or peel it off. the simplest way is probably get a acrylic panel, and just sandwich your art between them. seems like lamilabel method is a pain.

After you unscrew everything and pop out all the buttons, the art itself is barely held on with an adhesive. Peel that off.

Then what I did was print out my art on card stock at kinkos, laminate it, then I stuck it back onto the play using 3M spray adhesive. Cut and exacto knife all the holes, put everything back together and you're done. The entire process takes about an hour.

Oh, so I finally met MarkMan. He visited the PlayStation booth before we opened this morning and so I repaid the favor by going to the Tekken room. It took me like, 30 minutes to find :lol All the game rooms here are super hidden away.

looks like he's using a JLW either TM8 or UM8.

the different variations of the JLF are just differences in stuff like orientation of the pcb, does it come with the mounting plate, etc. they're all the same basically. I mounted a JLF that was taken from a TE in my agetec, if you're planning to use a jlf i suggest ordering one without the mounting plate as it is a pain to take off. the screws strip really easily and i had to drill two of them out.

Wow, awesomely clean interior, what did you use as the pcb and connector piece?

It was definitely a mini-GAF meetup at the Sony booth when you came by with myself and Jared. Awesome saying what's up finally. =)

But man did your TE sticks disappear in a heartbeat at the Capcom store. They literally vanished 30 minutes when they opened on Saturday. I did pick up a PS3 wireless pad though. Love the design on it.

Yea man it was awesome meeting you guys. I wish we could have chatted it up more. Good times though.

NinajHeartless, I am normally not a huge fan of characters on arcade sticks, but you make it work by keeping it stylish and simple.

Kudos to you, sir.

:D
Aww you are too kind sir!
Here's another design its the one going on my new arcade stick.
Very very very simple, but oh so awesome. It'll look great with all white buttons :D

Still working out how I'm going to secure the circuitry in the case (it's aluminum). It'll support PC/PS3/360, PS1/2, and GC with a cable swap.

I've been thinking about this... HRAP EX at $130 and HRAP EX SE at $140...am I the only one who finds this incredibly weird? (Kind of like how we're looking down on Wayne's basement only that's not Wayne's basement...)

Off topic. That is one of my favorite movies of all time. That and Coming to America.

We're in Delaware.

It is more like the $130 price for the EX was a little too inflated (should have been $119). I think the price of the TE got folks acclimated to the $150 price for a high-end stick that will be the norm.

Also, play-asia has the Blazblue stick back in stock in case anybody is still looking for it.

Still looking for actual photos of the EX-SA if anybody has any link or anything. And no comic con photos from GAFers of the new stick? :-( I wanna see it in somebody's setup and next to the standard TE...siblings and all that!

I gotta get some upgrate parts for my fightstick when I get some extra monies, Feels like my stick isn't registering alot of inputs after abusing it playing Blaz Blue for awhile. Getting frustrating!

Hey guys quick Q, I ordered a few PS-14-KNs and I got them in but they didnt come with nuts (or is it lugs lol). Do those come standard with the buttons or do I have to order them from somewhere?

That's weird, They should come with the nut (lug?).
If you got the translucent/skeleton buttons, the nut is clear. Maybe you missed it?

Yea its the skeleton buttons but theres nothing inside the packaging (it was a small box). I checked around to see if it fell when I opened it but no dice. I sent them a support ticket so hopefully they can help because I have no idea where to order spare nuts for buttons from lol. Aside from this though the buttons came in super fast from the place I ordered. 5 days for 8 buttons 2 tops.

Okay, but the nuts should already be on the button threads, they aren't sent separately.

Yea I figured they would be already around them, I emailed them and they contacted me back already and sent me a tracking number with my shipped nuts. Very happy with their service. I should have them soon, not a huge deal since im still waiting on arts plexi and art :D

Did you buy from lizardlick? The last order of seimitsu buttons I got from them had the nuts in a seperate baggy than the buttons which were stuck into a wedge of styrofoam. I can see how it could get left out

My TE arcade stick arrived today and I had a couple of games with it, so far Im really liking how smooth it is compared to the SE. The buttons and stick still don't feel anything to how the arcades at Arcade Infinity feel. Maybe its because they are worn down or something but the buttons are a lot more pressure sensitive and the stick is more let loose at Arcade Infinity or maybe they just aren't using Sanwa parts but I thought that was the standard for Japanese arcades. Oh well, Im happy with my purchase but I was just expecting them to feel somewhat to how they are at the arcades.

Well, I was about to ask if you ever got your stick, but it looks like you did. What was the turnaround time on that thing?

The 125$ pricepoint + 1 or 2 day shipping is tempting.

I know that the majority of the sticks are good to great for fighting games. But are any of them good for live arcade games, specifically pac-man championship edition and space invaders extreme? Or would the fight pad have more precision for them?

Hey guys,

Sharing my recent mod. Since I'm stingy with colour prints I decided to use sketches printed (laser) on thick art block paper.

A real good way if you're on a tight budget, or having mental block thinking of what design to go with.

Do you think I should go with a black or white balltop? I have both but am undecided. The one you see in the image above is actually a clear bubbletop, but it gives a purplish tint.

If anyone's interested, I posted my short work log at SRK.

I finally got the art for my TE to a place im happy with so I figure I post it and get some feedback. I didnt know what to put on it, I went with a puzzle fighter version of hakumen from blazblue (I used the ryu puzzle fighter art for a face ref) it came out ok. The idea is me as hakumen lol. Im leaning towards Extended TE plexi with orange buttons and bubble top.

Brilliant execution on both...
Great job on making the stick and buttons flow with the art...beautiful

A lot of people hate playing Pac-Man CE on a stick. The reason is that most arcade sticks default to 8-way, and Pac-Man only uses 4 cardinal directions. If you want to play Pac-man the way it's meant to be played, turn the restriction plate in your JLF 45 degrees. It will nullify diagonals.

In general, sticks work great with arcade ports on XBLA.

I've been using mine for PSN games (Bionic Commando Rearmed and Shatter). Brings home the arcade feel. I dig it. I imagine it's the same deal on many XBLA games.

Sorry if this has been asked a dozen times before but:

Have the issues (like poo-poo washer) been resolved in the SFIV SE Fightstick?

I ask because I think I finally wanna jump into the modding scene and definitely think it would fit the bill.

Thanks again

Ok, so I've decided to get another arcade stick for my PS3.

I'm going with one of the Hori gems this time around.
The problem is, I'm undecided between two of their models;

HRAP3: HP3-53 Sanwa
&
HRAP3: HP3-57 Seimitsu

I need your input on how you guys feel about these models in terms of stick movement performance. I'm not too fussed about buttons as I'm happy with what both models have to offer in that department.

I've read many early posts along this awsome thread and I know the feel for the sticks(ie looseness etc) is a matter of personal preference but I want to get a better idea on what is the general consensus for both models I listed above.

Also feel free to recomend other Hori models. I know there is a new EX SE but I haven't read too much about that one.

Cheers!

Mine has been fine so far! Picked it up a couple of weeks ago, switched out the buttons, waiting for my replacement stick to arrive and my friend to do me some art.

This makes little sense as it was designed with the Xbox analog stick in mind unlike the original :/

Thanks man, your tops! :D

If you're planning on switching out the stick you'll be fine regardless. Anyway, if yours happens to be from the batch that went tits up, send me a PM and I'll post you the stick I'm taking out as I won't be needing it :)

Word!

Thanks!

I brought a Hori Fighting Stick EX2 to my workplace but I'm having some trouble with. It gets detected by Windows XP but NO button presses are registered at all, I tried the official and modified XBCD drivers but no go, It woked out of the box at home.

I'm suspecting that the usb drive read-only policy has something to do with this problem, has anyone ever encountered it ?

I wasn't going to get a stick just for Street Fighter 4, but I now want one as this seems to be a great year for console fighters. Thinking about a SF4 TE stick. Anyone know any good places to buy in Canada. I'm in the Toronto area.

From what I've seen so far, looks like EB games is out of the question. They won't check stock and have no idea about possibly ordering them, etc.

The EB in the Eaton Centre had a stack of them last time I was there. Game Centre has a couple too, but they're a tad more expensive ($200).

I already have a HRAP2 SA but I've been thinking of getting a TE and putting some sweet, sweet I <3 Daigo art on it. :lol

Awesome thanks. Called and they have both in stock. Is there a big difference in quality between the standard and tournament editions?

Supposedly, though the SE can always easily be modded to conform to the TE stick parts.

I went for the TE anyways, as the size/construction was well worth the price inrease for me.

If you have the money get the TE stick. The TE stick is miles beyond the SE stick and well worth the money.
