To finally be a match against other stick Users i finally bought a Tournament Edition D:
Damn never thought it would be such different feeling but its just great , the speed and sense.

But still its something unsual for me :x , since i played SF4 with my Xbox pad and the Analog Stick on it , its just weird with the stick.

If someone would be so kind to help me out with the button layout i would be grateful.

Especially throws and focus attack are just awful with two buttons :x
I just dont know how to place the Buttons :/
Usually i play with Cammy but also use Sakura sometimes , so if someone could give me some advice how to configure the button positions it would be great.

Thanks in advance D:

Why would you want to change them? The default layout is already the correct one:

LP MP HP
LK MK HK

Simply because 2 buttons for a throw or focus isnt useful in battle.
And since i have to kick out another function for these buttons i wonder which kick/punch i should cut from my layout.
With Cammy you need both punches and throws so its complicated to find a good layout to combinate good.

Get rid of MP and MK, replace them with throw and taunt, that should make things easier ;)

No. Just, no. Leave the buttons default and learn to use two buttons to throw and focus attack. This isn't a suggestion. It's an order.

MarkMan or anyone who might know,

Is there a guide out there for building your own arcade stick, particularly with a wood case? I want to put one together and the only thing I'm not sure of is what thickness wood I should use for the top panel. I know it can't be too thin or I won't be able to mount the stick and it can't be too thick or the stick itself won't be at the right height. Is there a universal thickness people often use when creating their own sticks? Or is there something else I'm not factoring?

Edit: NVM, Slagcoin.com had some good info.

Use this button setup:

LP MP HP nothing
LK MK HK nothing

or the one I use:

nothing LP MP HP
nothing LK MK HK

Do not use macros of any kind BECAUSE YOU ARE USING A STICK AND DO NOT NEED TO USE MACROS.

Arcade Stick GAF!

So, a few months ago I picked up two SFIV Fight Sticks with the intention of modding them. For the last few weeks my artsy girlfriend has been working on some custom art for both the arcade sticks, which is what I've brought to show off today! They aren't complete yet as I'm waiting for some buttons, ball tops and octagonal gates to get here from Lizard Lick, but I thought I'd post a picture of the the sticks with the art she did already applied.

The stick she made for me:

The art she did for the arcade stick she uses:

So I was getting sick of Pac Man CE with the 360 controller and remembered I still had sticks in my old Astro City panel. Found the panel, one of the sticks even had a 8-4 way switchable gate! Decided to ghetto up something before making a (relatively) real stick*...and failed on the controller part. Damn covered contacts on the 360 pad, couldn't clean them up enough to get good solder points. Gotta find a later generation one with easier wiring next time.

Anyway here's what I had before throwing the controller PCB away:

168z993.jpg

And yes it was wireless...other than the 14 wires sticking out the back and onto the controller PCB. 4 directions + ground, start and guide + ground, A + ground and B + ground (later gen controller has a single common ground), and two battery wires. The battery pack is in the bottom pic, held onto the wall by six small loops of scotch tape.

*I'm thinking about chopping the Astro City panel and making a case for it...possibly out of multiple layers of cardboard glued together, just cause I could make it with a knife rather than pulling out the jigsaw and drill...although I'd still need the saw to cut the Astro panel so who knows. I kinda liked the cardboard box after figuring out that I could mount the controller PCB right there.

Do want! How can I get one with a VSHG on it?

i got that thing awhile ago on ebay when the game first came out but i see it pop up once in awhile. just search "virtua poster."

on another note i check out this dual mod i did for bistromatchics. first time i ever got to mess with a femme fatale even though the guts are pretty much the same as a vanilla te. sorry for the wack camera phone pics. other camera died on me :(

IMG00014.jpg

i wasn't a fan of the femme fatale but it looks alot nicer in person. the all white body is pretty damn sexy and you don't notice fingerprints unlike the og te art.

I got Katsuhiro Harada to sign my Namco stick while he was in New Zealand watching the 2009 Oceanic Tournament. He's a friendly guy.

Are there any decent wireless sticks out there besides the Tekken 6 one? If not, are there any planned for release?

You could try ( and fail) to make your TE stick wireless like me

Can someone with wiring experience tell me if I'm on the right track? I basically used quick disconnects from Radio Shack and crimped together wires across the ground side of the buttons and hooked them to the wireless Axis adapter but I can't get it to synch with the PS3.

I haven't wired the home button yet though so perhaps that's the missing step?

Ohh sweet is that one of the sticks you modded from your earlier post?
I sent you a pm ages ago, but any advice for setting up a stick here in nz?
Saw that play asia can do the TE stick for about $280 NZD including shipping.

i would imagine you'd need to press the home button for the pad to even turn on but i haven't done a sixaxis mod in awhile. if you should at least try touching a ground to the home screw point on the axisadapter to test.

also wondering what your solution would be to charging the battery or syncing to another ps3 since you would need a cable plugged into the pcb to recognize. basically how are you going to be able to have the cable come out of the case?

Can't really tell cause the pics are tiny...and I don't know about the PS3 controller. According to this page I guess you need some resistors. And going by this pinout diagram (or this one) there's a few different grounds to take into account. Just make sure you connected the right stuff to them.

But yeah wiring up the home button is probably worth a shot for now.

I got my Marvel vs Capcom TE stick yesterday! Holy shit this is beautiful and the box is beautiful too.

Glad you like it! Wish I had more time to make something all new for that one, but whatever ;)

Thanks for the kind words :)

Nah, I didn't get around to posting those.

2 Agetec Dreamcast sticks with PS3 Cthulhu boards. Getting 2 green Seimitsu sticks and buttons for these soon, as well as 2 multi console Cthulhu boards on the way.
I'll get a few of Art's Agetec plexi's without the VMU section cutout when they're ready too.

2 iL/Cthulhu PS3 modded Street Fighter Anniversary Edition sticks. The guts are a bit rough but they work well.

and I modded a Namco stick with Sanwa parts and a Cthulhu PS3 board.

Probably worth it. That's still like $210 USD though..

Really love the reflective monochrome art and the black base.

Also picked up an octagonal restrictor and a white Sanwa bat top, just in case I feel like switching at one point.

The only place I could find in the UK for Round 2 sticks won't have them until early December. Damn.

I'm selling my Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV TE (Femme Fatale PAX Exclusive). Stick is new and unopened.

Selling at cost ($175) + shipping. PM me if you're interested.

Yeah, that art is great. Must buy 2 of these while overseas.

Saw this color/sanwa mod on SRK a few months back. Finally got to ordering the buttons and stuff. Really does make the white Amazon stick so, so pretty:

Meh, I might have jumped on the Femme Fatale (360) stick for $50 off...

Anyway, I just ordered the Tekken 6 LE bundle... what do I have to look forward to as far as the stick is concerned? Is it basically a wireless EX2? Is there any lag? I'm guessing it just takes AAs?

Wow that's an awesome deal, thanks MarkMan!

What time does the sale go active today?

:-(

I still need a Marvel stick. That one is really pretty from the photos. Maybe I'll get one in early december after the end-of-the-november stuff is over. I like all the metallic ink that Mad Catz has been using in the Femme, Round 2, and Marvel. Class. Hopefully we see the Tatsunoko sticks soon.

I haven't seen anyone post one on here in the flesh, so I'll bite. Arf arf. It looked so good standing on display when I was out doing xmas shopping.

Mahvel is my game...........until SFIV came out.
