The MVC2 stick is the same build as the SFIV TE stick. The only difference is the color of the buttons, and the art. Just get the cheapest TE you can find.
default button layout is different too, but yeah

where'd you get that?

those pretty good sticks?
I purchased it from a guy on a different forum.
It's the best non-arcade spec stick I've used and the form factor makes it really easy to carry with you.

From the Destructoid article. Gosh, the colorful buttons on the black 360 stick are so pretty:

Finally climbed the Namco bandwagon!

Welcome aboard! Its form factor is just so, so wonderful. An all-timer!

The black super TE looks pretty hot. The black + color seimitsus from the HRAP EX SE are sexier, but I like it a lot more in those candid shots.

Doesn't seem like they had any PS3 units to show on the floor/suite.

New pads look pretty cool...I don't collect those but I've got a couple and will certainly buy at least one for SSFIV.

Hoping MarkMan has a photo of a R1/2 next to the S. Looking the same size.

I think they should have went with a pad redesign before messing with the stick, not that I have a problem with how the new one looks. Either way I think I am done buying sticks for my 360, and since I don't have any fighters on my PS3 I will probably pass on anything offered for that too.

Gotta admit, after being down on the new TEs, that black 360 stick looks pretty damn good in these better quality pictures. I do hope they decide to release a more generic non-character art version though.

New sticks look good. Much better than the first teaser pic. Black one looks really slick. I like they lost the white edges and colored bezel. Will be getting one.

I really, really wish the fightpads had an improved d-pad. The buttons are the best of any pad I've ever used for fighters. (big, perfect resistance for quick taps or sliding, and easy to hit two at once) The d-pad, however, is just sloppy enough with diagonals to miss a lot of moves. SFIV must be more forgiving than other fighters, because it's really apparent in many other fighters I tried. They're ok for fireball motions, but for anything else, they're really imprecise at best. In fact, I had to exchange several because the diagonals don't come out properly on games where a dual shock or Saturn pad gave no problems at all.

MadCatz could have the best pad ever by a landslide if they made an effort to fix the d-pad. I'm disappointed they only seem to be slapping new art on these with no fix to a glaring problem.

Yeah, the new black one looks great. If I were more into these things I would get one, but I think my HRAP3-SA is just fine. I'm thinking of getting a pad so maybe a friend will play, and maybe even two pads if they think an arcade stick is an unfair advantage. Juri and T.Hawk pads could be great if they get the right poses, but in general I'd rather not have a character on them, so I think I'll try to nab a CC one while they're still available.

Mark can we get dimensions on the case? Is the middle section (if you popped the two thin end caps off) the exact same as the TE we have now? If you unscrewed the plexi top would it look the like a TE(fit the rounded plexi instead of full plexi)?

that black one looks really nice.

I'm looking for a sub-$50 arcade stick for the Wii. Are thereany others there outside of Hori?
Nah. Off the top of my head the only Wii-specific sticks are the three Exar ones (Neo Geo, Tatsunoko, and generic 6-button) and the Madcatz one. All of which are more expensive than the Hori FSWii.

I can sorta see the new pads in there, anyway we can get some info on who's going to be on them? Curious if the contacts on the dpad are any better.

I'll post some other pics up soon.

And show comparisons between the new TE and other sticks.

I really wish I could go all and and show you what else we have cooking in the lab, but I can't show all my cards at once!

Trust me, we're doing more than just changing one or two things around. There are going to be some crazy arcade stick designs out there. If anyone really knows me and my level of passion/knowledge for these fighting game controllers, you'll know I'm not messing around!

Sorry bout the stock images/photoshops. The actual product looks tons better.

Good to hear, MarkMan. Are there any tweaks being made to the Fight Pads as well, more so on the floating D-pad?

My only problem that I had with the originals, like others have mentioned, was the diagonal directions not being so responsive. Keep the great products coming, though! :D

Has there been any word about the size of the cord storage in SSFIV TE's?

I like the look of the 360 stick more than the PS3 after seeing the pictures. Those coloured buttons look just beautiful. Especially, on the black version of the stick.

Do a search for "Wii arcade stick" at Amazon. They exist but I can't attest to their quality.
I'd personally save a few more bucks and get a madcatz TvC stick.

so what's the main difference in the TE edition 1 and the TE Rd. 2?

i need a new stick and am in the market for one i can get a TE1 for $123 on amazon and $149 for the TE Rd. 2. Or would it be best to just wait it out for the SSF4 TE stick?

Pretty sure the differences are only cosmetic. Everything else should be the same.

You guys have more sticks coming out than just the TvC and SSFIV sticks?

TE 1 has a better artwork :D
That's the only difference.

I've got some questions for people with the SF4 SE stick: what are your general opinions of the product, meaning - are you happy with it? did you mod it?
As other posters in this thread, I don't really know why MadCatz didn't ship new SE sticks, like the TE upgrades they are doing.

Oh, and thanks for those guides Rufus, because I was going to ask those aswell.

thanks for the answer.

in regards to the SE stick, it's an OK stick not bad but not great either. my main problem is with the buttons, sometimes they seem to be pretty unresponsive. i'd love to mod it but i have no experience with modding and i don't want to fuck up my stick because its my only one. So hopefully when i get my new TE i'll be able to experiment a little with some modifications.

Alright, the actual pictures make the stick look better. Wish the top was sitting flush with the rest of the stick tho.

Might consider picking one of these up (along with some buttons so it doesn't look so gaudy).

Is the Hori Tekken Stick bundlethe only wireless solution on the 360?

If so, why is that?
360 proprietary wireless is expensive to license; I think the only wireless 3rd-party peripherals are Rock Band and other rhythm game controllers.

It would've been nice if she displayed the multi-console feature. Right now, you have to either use a switch or imp (which requires pressing a button).

Also, the artwork is so generic and corny. Well, I'm sure Markman will buy one and report back.

I'm going to buy the Super TEs, they look nice. Do they have plexi glass?

Actually, Toodles released a new board called the chimp that has an auto switch.

I'm guessing the proper place is in the buy/sell thread, but if anyone is looking for a mint Street Fighter IV TE 360 Stick for cheap, send a PM. I gotta say though, the black 360 stick above looks extremely nice.

If Madcatz (a company who has a history of making shi... uh... lackluster accessories) can make a good arcade stick, I'm sure Datel (who has the same track record when it comes to accessories) can make a decent one at least. :lol

They don't have Markman.....
