Here's my TE:

img0035rc.jpg

I want to paint my second VSHG and TE stick, But I still want to maintain that glossy look of the side panels. First, what type of paint or procedure I need to do in order to paint the sides and give it that glossy look? Second, is there a website out there that let's me print the same vinyl material(With the same font)as the VSHG? Third, what's the best method to paint plastic and give it that authentic look?

I haven't bought a new stick in awhile, as I got tired of the HRAP and TE variants. I'm only interested in new stick designs (and would like to get my hand on the new Horis). Mark posted the Qanba Fight Stick a week or so ago, and I decided to invest in one for each system. These mark sticks 11 and 12 (or maybe 12 and 13).

Bought the PS3 v3 non-wireless) and Xbox v2. My review is pretty brief. It uses Sanwa parts, which is great. It controls about the same as the TEs, HRAPs, etc. Only apply if you like Japanese sticks.

Positives:

Arcade parts
Plastic Glass (but could be plexi)
Decent price

Negatives:

Short cord (ridiculously short when compared to TE or SE)
Short shaft (the shaft seems very short, even though it's using a Sanwa JLF)
Generic looking box.
Generic art

I did not open up the stick and look at the wire management or PCB, so I cannot comment on that. Also, the PS3 edition came with SFIV artwork. It just sucks, as the holes weren't there. I'm going to assume Markman used an exacto knife and took cardboard to mark where the holes were. Correct me if I'm wrong Mark. I'd like to change out the artwork, as I don't like the OG artwork. I'm probably going to invest in the wireless variant of the PS3 stick.

Guys, please spread the word. Make a thread for the stream or something....

Well, seems that my TE died, fuck.

My pushbuttons still work great, but the joystick decided to call it quits.

So, what are my options here? I don't have the warranty anymore, as I changed the square gate to octagonal.

I guess, I should buy a new joystick now, but just which one? Also, is changing the stick easy for someone who has pretty much no experience of modding sticks, aside from the gate switching?

No fighting games for me for awhile. :(

Buttons still work, eh? Have you tried changing between LS/DP/RS? (should be on DP)

No way!

I somehow had managed to switch it to RS without me noticing it!

And here I was, almost in tears! :lol

Q: why are ps3 arcade stick and 360 arcade sticks of the same bundle (like sf4 and tekken) cost the same when ps3 clearly should cost more because there is a wireless module in it

and, why are there never wireless 360 sticks
yes, i know there's 'lag' but seriously, are they just saying that to keep costs down while selling it at a slightly higher prices since they sell it at the same price for the exactly same parts on the ps3 minus the wireless, which goes back to the first point

also, same with the arcade stick coming with wii
it's annoying to having it to plug with my wiimote to use, why are they not putting this module in
at the premium price they're charging, it should be included

Even if the stick had died, replacing it wouldn't have been that hard...

PS3 supports standard HID controllers.
MS requires proprietary "XID" controllers that cost manufacturers money to license.

And there is an official wireless 360 stick (Tekken bundle).

How rare is the MvC2 TE? I have an opportunity to get one new for $115. Would be a 2nd TE for 2p. Not used to play MvC2 at all.

Not rare at all, from what I've seen. Every Gamestop I go to has at least one on the shelf.

I'm having difficulty setting my Hori EX2 for Touhou PC. In device manager (game controllers) it installs alright, however in the game the stick is not responsive, only the buttons. Help!

i think this is just, my friends not knowing how to pull off moves....but it has come from several people...

anyone had problems with the virtua stick high grade while playing SF4?

im pretty sure i have a revision stick, but, people keep bitching about it not registering moves or something so......

anyone else had problems?

Virtua stick high grades have a well know input problem, so I'm pretty sure you're gonna run into problems. Best way to test a stick is to just go into training mode, or play some ST for a little bit.

anyway to fix it though? some sorta mod or something?

Finally get to post here after being activated today!

Anyhow, after 13 or so stick buys in the past year with my latest mod being a 10-year-old Dreamcast (Agetec) Arcade Stick, I am looking at getting a new design that isn't Mad Catz or Hori...

How is this Qanba Fight Stick? Does the build quality "feel good?"

I'm a bit concerned because I've read mixed reviews of mainland Asia sticks.

So far, not a lot of complaints about the Q stick other than the slightly recessed JLF shaft (thinking the stick is positioned lower than it is in the TE or HRAP lines) and artwork most people don't care for.

How many designs of the Q-stick are being released for PS3 at any rate? Besides wireless and wired, I'm counting two case colors -- black and an announced (but unreleased) white variant that's sort of reminds me of the Mad Catz Asian exclusive joysticks.

BTW, while on the subject of Asian-exclusive sticks, what did happen to the Mad Catz white PS3 TE fight stick?

Other than myself and Markman, don't know anyone on this board who has a Qanba stick.

I have pictures on here. Also, there's an official thread on SRK.

The quality is comparable to HRAP or TE. I can't speak on the durability yet, as I only have one every-day stick (a TE).

The only negatives are the short stick shaft and short cord. Compared to the TE, the Qanba is deficient. However, I could care less about the size of the shaft ;) and one can always buy an USB extension cord.

The art... I received two SFIV art labels. The only issue is the button holes weren't cut out. You may have to remove the internals and use a knife thingy (I can't remember the term, which is mentioned in my previous post...alzheimers).

The box is ugly too.

The wireless Qanba3 for PS3 sounds like it might be good, as it's using the all Sanwa parts.

The only questionable thing are the PCBs. Someone had a pic of the 360 guts, and it looked like a controller PCB not propietary PCB.

Colors are white, glossy black, black or that new white-green color (looks kind of like an EX2).

Hope that helps.

Gut it and swap in a Cthulhu PCB.

Unfortunately many PC games don't support POV hat controls. This can be circumvented with software like Joy2Key.

I've got two VSHGs and a TE and I haven't noticed any input problems with SFIV. I can't tell any difference between the Madcatz TE and the VSHG while playing. You might want to go into practice mode and try a three button move like Zangief's lariat.

Some of you may know, we made a limited run of nifty keychains for CES and other future events in 2010. Here's a pic:

It also has a nifty lil' hidden feature:

3mm hex key for uhhh voiding your warranty. Be warned! Cool though, right?

I'll be giving away one via twitter tomorrow at noon.

Not on twitter? Get on it.

^ Retweet that for a chance to win! Winner will be randomly drawn. Open to continental US only. I'll try an international contest later on down the road.

Good luck. ;)

jepjepjep, there probably won't be a Seimitsu version of the V3 for awhile. As it is right now it is not easily compatible with the most common Seimitsu stick (LS-32).

_dementia, they'll be available somehow in the future, just not quite there yet.

Also, if anyone cares, some TE "S" comparison photos with the original TE.

Any plans for a newer MvsC 2 stick or something? I own the original and it's my favorite arcade stick ever. Would be awesome to have a second one with new artwork in the new design.:D

The HSS-130?

A sexy Saturn controller. Quite literally a 2p control panel from a Sega Astro City cabinet. Full seimitsu (though, soldered to the PCB). Probably the nicest retail stick ever.

Hi !

I am new here !
I wanted to introduce myself and share some pics of my 2 sticks.

One I (poorly) made myself with a DC controller and extra HSS-0130 buttons.

And my super prestine HSS-0130 !
