I was inspired by Aokage's Ryu design so I kind of made mine with elements similar to his.

How is the Tekken 6 combo stick?
Looking for a back up to my Street Fighter IV tourn edition.
(Or would it be cheaper to get a different kind and swap buttons?)

Does anyone have any info on how to get a PS3 SFIV TE Stick to work on PC? I have an Intel MoBo (i5 750 processor and nvidia GTX260) but I can't get it to fully recognize the stick. Any help would be great.

EDIT: I am on Windows 7 64-bit.

Sorry about that, that sucks. If anyone cares to know about an arcade stick that works perfectly on 64-bit Windows 7 with no config necessary, check out the HRAP3 SA.

The Paewang native dualmod PCB is amazing!

Just got it installed saturday in my Namco and its an easy, relatively cheap option that doesnt take a lot of space.

I'm now hoping just that Microsoft doesnt block it with a firmware patch as it uses a hacked chip :D

Holy... is that as easy to wire up as it looks? I may need to get one for the full custom I've been dreaming of for the past 2 years.

Some ppl on srk that hope ms patches it out late into their adoption rate just for shitstorm that ensues. :lol

Anyone know anyone that installs Cthulhu or Chimp installations? I'd rather pay someone and have it done properly then try and slap it together myself.

I've been able to find one shop that does it over at modchipman.com, anyone know any others? Just exploring my options.

PM Akuma001, he's probably the best man on GAF for the job. i'm sure lots of people can give back me up on it as well.

So many threads to search through, sorry if this has been asked before (I'm sure it has).
I own the HRAP3-SA (ps3 version). I would like for it to be able to work on the 360 also. What would be the best method? I own an extra mad catz SF4 fight pad. I'm still not really sure how the MC Cthulu + chimp stuff works. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My friend just bought the MvC2 TE stick. He is not like the square gate right now. He would prefer the octagon gate. I'm looking on lizardlick right now, but not sure which one would fit on his stick. These are the ones I see:

Sanwa JLF-TP-8T
Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT-SK
Sanwa JLW-TM-8
Sanwa JLW-UM-8

If by chance he wants to go with seimitsu, which one should he get?

I remember asking awhile back about sanwa button for my HRAP3. I never got around to buying the buttons, but this time I am ready to do it. I was looking and I think I might be interested in the seimitsu buttons instead. I assume the PS-14-K buttons would work on my HRAP3 since it is 30 mm? Thanks for all the help.

I got a Madcatz SE that I modded with Sanwa stick and buttons. The stick is awesome, but I can't find a comfortable position to play it in. If I play on my lap, the controls are not accurate. If I put it on the coffee table, I'm much better, but can't play long because I'm stooped and my back hurts after ~30mins. What do you guys do?

Uh, all those sticks you listed come with square gates.

The piece I think you are looking for is a Sanwa GT-Y octagonal restriction plate, which replaces the stock one on the TE.

With BlazBlue coming out in europe next month im thinking will my current stick cut it for blazblue or will i need to invest in a better stick?

Mind telling us what stick you are talking about...?

Madcats SF4 fight stick

well if you can play other games and are good with it, it will be ok :D but investing in a solid stick/parts from sanwa or seimitsu is always good.

Its like cars, you can drive with an old toyota but a new mercedes might be more satisfying :D

im just wondering if i change the stick and gate will that make doing the moves on SF4 etc harder due to it being a square gate rather than octo?

Well, if you're content with it for SF4 it should be fine for BB as well since it's also a 2D fighter. You'll be making the same stick movements and all, so...
If you still want to upgrade you could always just put in a Sanwa stick and buttons. Not that expensive (certainly cheaper than buying a whole stick) and it'll be on par with any top of the line stick, parts wise, at least. There are other conveniences like cable storage on the TE stick, etc., but those aren't exactly essential. Unless you want to spend the money, of course.

Not sure what you problem is with the 3D fighters though. I don't play them myself, but I thought the SE would be just as good for those. Don't the Tekken 6 cabinets use Sanwa parts as well?

i dunno what it is i mean im fine using the stick for tekken and vf but sometimes the stick doesnt seem to give me enough throw to do some moves

it doesnt get stuck it sometimes doesnt feel right
to be fair it might just be beacuse ive not played much tekken with it and mostly street fighter 4 and HD Remix

The difference beetween an 4-way and 8-way gates is mostly just up to everyone´s preference. I always play with a 4-way, both Tekken and SF4. I can't pull of srk-motions or fast corners with an 8-way as precisely.

Swapping the gates is usually easy, try out both!

i think il do just that
il try blazblue with stock parts first then look into changing stuff around
now another question.
whats the best entry level stick for ps3

Your terminology is a little fucked up here.
Diagonals don't exist on 4-way gates, making it impossible to play fighters.

"4-Way" describes a square gate rotated 45 degrees so only 4 directions exist. Perfect for games like Pac-Man.
"8-Way" is the default designation for Sanwa's square gates.

That's why the JLF is called 4-way and 8-way adjustable.

You seem to be talking about square v. octagonal and not 4-way v. 8-way.

So I finally got around to making a big dumb $120 order with Akihabarashop. Any idea of when I can expect my stuff to ship? Their FAQ isn't exactly clear.

I was thinking about the whole octo vs square gate debate because my PAL LE BlazBlue is arriving next month :D and thought the square gate is good for SFIV because - the game - has shortcuts to make moves incredibly easy to perform, but if you wanted to play other fighting games the octo gate would be better?

I was thinking of modding my SE stick but this is my first stick ever and i haven't modded anything like it before. I've done some reading and watched a lot of tutorials but does anybody have any words of advice before i do this?

It's obvious, but label each wire before or as you're disconnecting it from the stock buttons.

Anybody have a TE top panel they are willing to part with? Just need it bare, no buttons/stick, etc. Mounting plate needs to be intact. Let me know. Thanks!

A few questions on the TvC stick (will be my first stick, yaaay...unless you count my old NES advantage or the Street Fighter II Turbo arcade machine I used to have):
1) Is the art as easily moddable as the SE 360/PS3 sticks? Just want to make sure it can use the same template. ;)
2) Classic Controllers/Wii Remotes can be used on the PC with the program GlovePIE+built-in or USB dongle bluetooth, I'm guessing since the stick is basically a CC, this would be the easiest way to make it work on a PC? Has anybody tried this?

Madcatz was nice enough to label them on the terminals, so this isn't really necessary.
Are they actually labelled or just color coded? I didn't notice anything and I'm a bit colorblind so I didn't want to take any chances. :D
