What spinners are those you have? And how do you like them?

Turbo Twist 2 from Groovygamegear. I haven't used them a whole lot yet, but they seem really nice. I'm still working on getting them configured, since different games use different settings, but once you get the sensitivity right for each game, they work great.

Plus they're a super-small form factor. They go right into a standard 1 1/8" button hole.

I don't know what it is about this year,

but I have to admit most of the new stick designs just aren't doing it for me.

Not enough to buy them at any rate.

The only new stick design that I'm interested in is the Hori RAP V3 SA. I still have concerns about moddability and access to the interior but otherwise it's the only new stick design that looks like it's going in the "right direction."

I think the Hori VLX is too long and overpriced for practicality. It's amazing that with all that faceplate real estate that it looks like the joystick and pushbuttons are mashed together, too! I read so many complaints about the buttons and sticks being too close together in other designs but it seems like a bunch of people are willing to pay 3 times normal stick going rate for a VLX.

(Am I the only one that thinks that's weird? LOL )

I also think the MC TE "S" with the abrupt cut-off of the angled siding look like another run-of-the-mill joystick. It's a retrograde move that I don't think will help Mad Catz. Loved last year's design a lot.

My opinions, yes. It's also my opinion that there is already a joystick surplus/glut in the market and that it's far too easy and more convenient to buy last year's model(s) at a discount than newer joysticks. I wonder how that could bite both MC and Hori in the rear!?!?

How much is the VLX going to go for? Play-Asia doesn't have a price listed and I couldn't find it with google. I wanted one of these new Hori's, but I''m thinking I might just go for the new TEs. I want to get a panel replacement from Art with a UMK3 layout so I can start playing that seriously on XBL.

looks like Hori will release a generic/unbranded version of the wireless Tekken sticks...

I wonder if that Eizo monitor is lag free for fighters, too bad the 30" is $3k, too expensive to just buy and test out.

Grrr. I ordered the new black 360 TE S from Amazon. All the versions are in stock except that one. Says 2-5 weeks. Did they sell through the first allotment already or is it just delayed?

Seems like the same situation at the GS store itself. All the others have been on sale for $131 since yesterday as well. Shame... I like the black 360 one and for $20 off it would have been a nice deal.

I'll be at Final Round XIII tomorrow!

Special promo deal on all fighting game products on the Mad Catz web store!

Also, special promo deal/discount on the SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV FightPads and new Tournament Edition "S" FightStick!

Stay tuned for more info! <3

Sounds good. I was especially interested in the Turbo Twist because of the form factor.

they sell this at my local bookmans, how hard was it to get it to work on newer systems??
You have to cut the chips and resistors off the stick PCB, remove excess plastic, and invert the triggers (if you are planning on padhacking it), if you can do that and are comfortable with precision soldering then it's not too hard. I built it in about 2-3 days, and dual-modded it in a day.

Btw there are two versions of the stick: I have the old Japanese version which has a Sanwa JLW in it, while the American and new Japanese versions have apparently an unbranded Seimitsu LS-40.

Nice! Make sure to post pics once you've completed it. That is exactly what I had planned to do to mine. Just waiting for one of the stock parts to crap out (Probably gonna be a while) in order to give me an excuse to get inside and make some changes.

Here is the black and white version. I'd like to get a white dustwasher, and I may end up making the final two buttons white as well.

Since I dont understand half of what this meant, Ima just take it as this is a project thats too difficult for me haha

Just got one of these hrap v3 sa sticks.

Works wonderfully. Only problem is, I went to enjoy some KOF98 UM and what do you know...it does not work on PS2 mode.

Does anyone know how to get it to work? Or am I stuck not being able to use it? Does sony release firmware updates that solve this problem?

Any suggestions would help. I really want to use this stick on my PS2 games.

That's a real shame about the HRAP V3. I remember folks said it worked on PS2 BC over in an SRK thread :/
That, plus it's actually officially licensed unlike the HRAP3 and VSHG, so you assime it would be BC compatable just like they are at the very least.
My PS3 isn't BC so I can't verify.

Looks like firmware update or bust, or replace it with a vanilla HRAP3 or VSHG for BC shenanigans.

I read the same thread...:(

Crossing my fingers for a firmware update. KOF98 is too good not too play and Im in not in the mood to buy another stick (or trade this one).

Noob question.

I have a PS3 TE. Considering a second TE when SSF4 comes out.

Problem: I want to play Pac-Man:CE with a stick so bad it hurts. Also considering the 360 version of SSF4. I've lurked this board and the SRK one off/on for a year or so, but never grasped the whole mod flowchart.

What's my best move?

I got a white SSFIV Arcade Fighstick Type S in the mail today. I think it makes stick number 15 (not sure).

I like the artwork over the OG TE (but I'm still not a fan of the shop art of official artwork).

The only difference I can see at my initial looksee was the side plastics being removed. It looks kind of weird. As a redesign, I would've preferred a different look, especially now with Hori also "borrowing" the Viewlix design.

It performs just the same. I didn't look for the start and select lock. I'm probably going to get Akuma001 to dual mod it.

I have a R2 TE stick, how much would it cost for akuma001 to dual mod that?

As BC PS3's are becoming a rarity, this issue would become irrelevant. But still a shame as I have a 60GB launch model. I guess this makes the HRAP3 still a desirable stick for some people. It's definitely become a keeper for me.

I assume the VLX would have the same issue.

IMHO, Sony should work on the BC firmware update for the MC sticks first. If they'll even bother.

I got MvC TE stick a few weeks ago and haven't used it yet. It's waiting for SSF4.
Its really common, but I love the art. It has a slight metallic look which doesn't show up in photos. Since I like the art, I'm not tempted to mod it... at least not yet. I also doubt if I'm good enough at SF4 that I'd notice much difference with better parts.

Is he a GAF member? If so, what's his handle?

Akuma001. And he can get the parts for you, he'll just charge you for it. Just remember, start out with a 360 stick, as it's easier versus starting from the PS3 and having to get a ground PCB for the 360, etc.

And I got one of those MVC2 TEs when Gamestop had the sale awhile ago. The artwork on the TEs are so blah. The ones I like are the Comicon and Asian art.

Markman says there's other products on the way, just wait for E3, so I guess we'll see.

I've searched high and low just wondering if this is even possible and if so has anyone done it with screenshots? In principle seems like it would work and since I hardly Turn on my Wii might as well make use of the stick on 360 too.
