Noob question, which I'm sure has been covered but going through 265 pages is insane. So I have a PS3 TE stick and I want to dual mod it so it works on my 360, how would I go about doing this. I remember reading that while it is easy to dual mod a 360 TE stick to work on a PS3, the other way around is very difficult. Is it possible at all? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

You just need a common ground 360 pad, like the ones found in Mad Catz pads. Check SRK Tech Talk for more details.

Neato. I'm not the biggest fan of animu tits on arcade sticks, but I do like how the user swapped the Vewlix layout for the classic Sega city one.

You can change the panel on the VLX with a normal arcade cabinet one or something?

So I'd have to buy a 360 pad to get this to work? SRK's tech talk seems waay to advanced for me :lol I figured Gaf may be an easier route.

I recently bought a Tekken 6 wireless stick and tried to connect it with my PC. It works fine with Street Fighter IV but when configuring with Kawaks I can't configure the actual stick, the buttons function good. Is there any tool I must download to get the stick working?

Yes I wondering what would a RJ45 port do on an arcade stick, and your post clears that up lol. I might try this solely for having the disconnect cable.

I always suggest it when someone is thinking of using an MC Cthulhu because it actually saves some hassle, is cleaner and means if something is wrong with the cable you only have to worry about the cable itself and not the soldering points. My stick (dual modding MC with a 360 board and an imp for switching between the MC and the 360) uses an RJ45 jack and I'm really happy I did it since I've actually found myself using the PS2, xbox, USB and GC cables more than I thought. If I had more games on SNES to bother using it on there I'd hack a cable apart for it, too.

Hey guys I have a quick question in regards to the Tournament Edition Fightstick. I really like it so far but is the actual stick itself supposed to be a little bit loose in the neutral position? I don't think it's affecting input or anything but this is my first arcade stick so I'm a little cautious.

It's normal to have a slight dead spot/wobble. As long as it's not REALLY loose or hitting the switches randomly (you'll hear the click) you're fine.

Thanks very much. What you just described as "normal" is what I'm experiencing.

ghettostick update:

got tired of 2 cords coming out so I said the hell with it and stuck a serial port in there and made 2 custom cables. (serial > Wiimote and serial > USB)

That's one hell of a sale - $100 for an SFIV R2 TE when they're about $250AU (so still $220US or so) down here. I guess it's mostly the cost of shipping. Shame, I'd love to get my hands on one for that price.

I got a madcatz tournament edition stick for PS3 (should just be regular USB, right?) and I was wondering if there is a way to make it work on my PS2? I wanna pick up street fighter 3 and play it a little bit, but I don't wanna buy ANOTHER stick just for this one game on PS2, especially since it's coming to PSN/XBLA soon.

When I google it, all I can find are PS2 to USB adapters, but I need it the other way around. Anyone know if this is possible?

No way that I know of. Even if your PS3 is backwards compatible it still wouldn't work so it's safe to assume this is not possible.

You're going to need a PS2 stick or if your motherboard is not nvidia based plug your PS3 TE into your PC and play 3S on GGPO instead... :D

Yeah i've used my TE stick on my PC before, but I was hoping to play the console version of 3S because there's a practice mode. Oh well though.

And isn't GGPO kind of sketchy? I mean, you have to download an arcade rom of the game you wanna play, so it might not be a good idea to talk about/recommend it on gaf.

It's fine to talk about it. Just don't go asking for roms in threads.

i thought even admitting to using it would result in a ban. i think i'll ride on the side of caution and just never speak of it again. :lol

There's threads on Wii emulation, PS2 emulation, PSP custom firmware, PSP Homebrew.

I guess it just seems much more feasible that a person would play a wii game on an emulator off of a disc than a person ripping a rom from an arcade cabinet that they own. :lol

Capcom Street Fighter Stick. Its the best stick for the console, unless you want the an American stick.

Is it called the fighter power stick?

Also, is $100 the best price I'll ever get for a TE R2?

If you're willing to read up on the procedures -- and willing to do some cutting and soldering -- you can get something like an MC Cthulhu board and put it in your stick so it will work on both PS2 and PS3. Or, alternatively, pay for someone else to do it for you. Check some of the threads in SRK's Tech Talk forum if you're interested.

Chun stick is limited run, yes. Goes on sale early Sept.

Ca the TvC stick/buttons be changed easily or do I need to know all that soldering nonsense? I have never modded a stick before so I am new to all this.

Easy.

Because MarkMan loves you.

So Im back still wanting to make my own stick. How ever I would like to know an international seller on parts eg. sticks, circuit boards and buttons and they would ahve to Ship to AUS unfortunately I have only found OZstick and they seem to only supply the buttons the joy stick and the wiring. So does anyone know of a reputable place where I can purchase the parts. Since I cant buy premade because good ones are like 250+ here...

also the store must not have ridiculously overpriced shipping :(

Sexy. Its depressing to see this stick and you say to yourself: You'll never get one of those except you pay 260 bucks for it. Damn you europa!

Markman, any reason that the top two PS3 VLX sticks have the PS3 logo in black while the bottom two have them in red?

Any differences in the stick itself?

just the Japanese version vs the North American one I think

Is it usual for Lizardlick to not respond to and order placed. After placing an order the other day I got no confirmation or anything. I then sent them an email, also no response.

Which madcatz te stick should I go for?

The original, round 2 or super street fighter version?

Is there even any difference?
The lockswitch on the SSFIV versions lock out Start and Select too as well as Home/Guide. On the older ones, the lockswitch only disables Home/Guide. Other than that the differences are just aesthetic and minor form factor alterations.
