When you say "replacement parts," are you looking to mod the stick? Or are you looking for replacements of the parts that came in the Agetec to begin with (which probably isn't possible... you should get another stick and swap parts)?

If the latter, or if you're looking for Agetec sticks in general... yeah, they're 10 years old and hard to find. Your best bets online would be to check the trading forums in places where people would be most likely to trade them (SRK forum and Shmups forum, to start) to see if anyone is selling, or post there indicating an interest in buying one. And then there's always eBay, but be prepared to pay a little more if you go that route. IRL you can just ask other people that play fighting games if they have one and are willing to part with it.

The EX2 is not easily moddable; the SE is. If that matters to you, then the EX2 is not worth it...buy another SE instead.* If that doesn't matter to you, and you're just looking for something inexpensive to play casually for a while, the EX2 will be okay, and the $40 asking price on Amazon is reasonable. Personally I prefer the unmodded EX2 to the unmodded SE.
* Check GameStop's local availability feature on their site if you're looking for one. It's getting harder/more expensive to buy one online right now; GameStop is $50 and you won't have to wait for shipping.
 
Hey guys. I was cleaning out a closet earlier today and I found a Blaze Twin Shock Arcade Stick for PS1/PS2.

This is not my picture but the stick looks exactly like this. It is still in good condition and works perfectly. Does anyone have any clue as to what its value would be? I still have the box for the thing too.

hey markman, is there any way to purchase a te-s 360 pcb on its own? I think something went wrong while connecting mine to a teasy mod =(

I have one of those, got it for $15 at game ebgames years ago, it was fairly decent for a budget stick. It's obviously worth more now, especially since its a ps1/2 stick.
 
Couple of questions for the stick gurus in here:

1) I have a Madcatz SE stick and now the buttons are starting to stick. I have another stick (Hori Real Arcade Pro 3) that I had someone replace the buttons and the joystick. The old joystick from the Hori is done for, but the buttons I think have some life left in them. My question is if those old buttons from the Hori can fit right in for the failing ones in the Madcatz SE.

2) For dual modding, the general consensus is that modding a PS3 stick would be easier than a 360 one, correct?

Can't answer the first question but IIRC the dual modding a 360 stick is easier.

Made by Hori for the PlayStation title EHRGEIZ: GOD BLESS THE RING, Squaresoft. Using the same case as the command stick PS.

With the EHRGEIZ Arcade Stick... I now have 245(I think) in my collection. Someone reassure me that I'm sane. Please?

Yes...

...but if you're willing to spend a few bucks on buttons that last longer, are more sensitive, and also have a better feel than the "mushy" Hori buttons, click here or here for better alternatives. 30mm is the size you want, and either snap-ins (what you have now) or screw-ins should work.

Meanwhile I see the screws on the front of that Ehrgeiz stick and can't help but wonder what it looks like inside, and how it compares to the newer cheap Hori sticks. I'm an addict now...

No, it's the other way around - it's easier to start with a common ground 360 PCB and use a Cthulhu/TEasy to add in PS3 support. To add 360 support to a PS3 stick, you'd have to pull a PCB out of another 360 controller and "padhack" it. If you don't mind ditching the PS3 PCB, you could just install a PS360 board which has native support for both consoles.

God dammit. I absolutely love that Chun Li stick. I already have two standard TEs. I don't need another one. So hard to resist. :(
 
I got 2 sticks already but am willing to get another one with my income tax check. I'm interested in Mad Catz next offering, but I'd like to see more aesthetic changes. I already have a TE and don't want another one with different art, I'd like to see a overhaul of the case before I bite on another Mad Catz stick. If that's not the case I may go with a Qanba stick instead.

I'm reading this thread from the FIRST post... my have arcade stick/modding/custom really GROWN over the last 3 years!
 
Wow, I dig the "All Black" + "Super Square" motif you got going with the new sticks. I don't know about the lack of buttons or actual sticks will pan out for you.

Or maybe they are just touch sensitive panels? Awesome!
 
my trusty hraps are stashed a couple states away with a relative i've already inconvenienced enough, will need something to play mvc3 on -- great excuse to finally get a te, can't tell you how many times i've had them in the cart and then been like 'there is no reason to buy this besides joystick fetishism'

just in terms of the look i still really want an r1, but iirc the pcbs are more reliable on newer sticks? if so, are the r2s as reliable as the supers? i like those protruding sidepanels

The Wireless one? Absolutely not.

The wired Tekken 6 HRAP from Japan is good though. It even has quick disconnects on the buttons, which is rare for a licensed Hori.

Too bad, I mostly wanted a stick for the occasional Shmup (and for Radiant Silvergun when it's released) but don't want to spend a fortune, still I have no desire to buy a crappy stick just because it's cheap. So thanks :)

I've no doubt this entire line of sticks would not have happened if it wasnt for you markman, you are a credit to your company and the community, if more people in privilaged positions were as passionate as you the gaming world would be a better place. Whenever i get jaded at my job, i always think back to your enthuasim and remind myslef how awesome our industry is because of people like you.

Okay I have a couple things I need help with for my TE.

I recently got a full panel plexi and art from arthong and when I attempted to remove the top hex screws, I accidentally stripped one of them.

I was able to drill it out but the problem is the nut that's holding it from the bottom fell under and I hear is shaking within the stick now whenever I move it. I found out that the bottom plate needs to be opened to reach it but the next problem is that I can't seem to get the last 2 screws out with my phillips. I also seem to lack an attachment for my drill that can fit into it and get them out.

1.What drill attachment piece would I need to fit the bottom plate screws?

2.What replacement screws should I get for the top of my TE that will also support a plexi cover. I've tried contacting madcatz a couple times now with no luck.
 
Anybody know where focusattack.com is located in the US? They allegedly shipped my PS360 board Monday, but tracking number isn't active with USPS and it's been one business week. If it's California I'll cut them slack, if not I have to wonder what's up. :|

Figured I'd ask here since folks have used them in the past.
 
If Madcatz TE fightstick is 10/10 then what is regular fightstick?

I'm looking for an affordable stick to meet my FBA needs on the PS3 and on PC.

Everyone keeps babbling how awesome TE is. Nowadays I just don't have the time to play like I used to have, but when I do I'd rather play with something even remotely good ie. quality over quantity. But nevertheless TE's price tag is a bit too high to be justified for me.

SE stick is terrible. Typical Madcrapz product.

The best $50 budget arcade stick you can buy is still a Hori FS3. And holy crap, it's a mere $29.99 now!? :O

I'm not sure if it will play nice with PC natively, but you could use some of the Playstation to PC software to map the buttons.

I could not possibly disagree with this post more. Someone's stuck with a mental image of 2005 madcatz (and 2005 hori).
