Does anyone know where I can find the Asian Madcatz TE anywhere legit online? I remember it being the TE just without the SF official art. Can't seem to find it on Ebay or Google so if anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful.

Edit: Nvm, found it on Play Asia finally. Thanks to all who looked for me haha :)

Is the Home button wired in that picture? It's a little hard to tell.

Did the person doing this mod for you solder directly to the 360 PCB?

To be honest, I don't even know how to answer you. I know he did some soldering, but I don't know the process and the method he used to get it done.

There should be a wire going from HOME on the chimpSMD to the small pcb under the turbo/home panel. I imagine this is why the PS3 Home button works but not the 360 guide button. It sounds like the Xguide button (as it is labeled on the 360 PCB on your stick) is not wired to the same spot. So long as nothing awful was done with soldering the joints, this is easy to fix.

There are a bunch of wires coming from the section where the Guide and Turbo buttons are located. As far as I can tell, everything is sealed into the PCB. Do you think it could be a case of being wired incorrectly? My button layout was all wrong and I had to fix it myself. Maybe the same could be said for the Xbox Guide button?

That sounds just as likely, yes. The way this gets set up there may even need to be 2 wires coming from the Home post on the ChimpSMD.

Do you have any experience with ChimpSMD chips? Meaning on yours or someone else's, which part of the PCB did the Guide button go to? I could try experimenting, but I'm more afraid to mess with this kind of thing compared to the button lay out.

The guide button wires into the Home post on the chimpsmd itself.

Ok so I did some experimenting. There is a wire going to the home post. Once I removed that wire, on PS3 it no longer functioned as the Home. On 360 there was no change as it didn't work before. So I guess everything is wired correctly, but the problem may lie else where? Who knows, hopefully I can run into somebody who may be able to solve this problem for me.

Ok, finally got around to ordering this stick. Its out of Calgary which is nice, should take long to get up here to Edmonton.

So now, CanadaGAF I need help getting a couple different colour parts for it now. Who knows the best place to pick them up? Im just lookin for things like dust covers and the bezels.

They should look really good on one of these:

debating on making a new art for the top panel, on the one hand I like whats there....on the other hand, I would mind making it match my VSHG.

The wire already going to Home was correct, which is why your PS3 Home button works. The problem is that you should probably have 2 wires going to there, one to the button itself and another going to where the XGuide button is on the 360 PCB.

This can be fixed a few ways. If he forgot to solder a guide button, just connect some thick solid core wire from the wire connector on the board (just wedge it so it's touching the metal in the harness) to the home button and screw that and the existing wire down onto the post. This could also be tried in general, just to see if it does, indeed, work.

I have a X360 Femme Fatale TE Stick that I want to get working for my PS3 also. I've read that the DualStrike is an easy solution, but I don't know where to buy one from in the U.S. since Lizard Lick doesn't carry them. Lizard Lick has the Toodles ChimpSMD which is another solderless option, but is this one as good as the DualStrike? Are these things pretty much like the same thing but just made my different manufacturers?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You can install a ChimpSMD very easily. I detailed it in my post here. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=26082511&postcount=14900

I loaned my TE stick to a friend last week for a SSFIV tournament he was having at his place.
It came back with some new mods.

I ended up getting one of the TE-S sticks as a replacement.

Just a bubbletop mod right now and I swapped out the 4 Xbox colored buttons with Sanwa buttons I had from a previous mod. Ordered some more buttons from lizardlick which should be here soon.

I thought the BB sticks were limited edition and they only made a couple thousand. Id get it if i had the cash! Put a dual mod in that sucker and BAM!

Amazon has had them in and out of stock lately. I passed the first time but jumped on it last night. I don't think they get more than 10-15 in at a time or so.

As a fight stick noob, could you tell me what a dual mod is? Thanks!

If you get an Xbox360 version of the stick there are pieces you can mod that stick with that will make the unit work with PS3 as well! That way you dont have to buy 2 seperate sticks for different systems.

Edit* Member status! sweeeet!

Damn, went with the PS3 version. Oh well, I do about 95% of my gaming on the PS3 anyway. Thanks for the answer though.

Haha. I'd assume with finesse and care. It seems he just slammed it over and over and over again.

I've actually been checking the parts out. It seems like only the shell and stuff were damaged. PCB and wiring looks ok for the most part. Have to straiten out the metal under plate in a vice and the JLF stick looks like its a goner. The main damage was to the lexan top I had, and the plastic parts of the case. Might be able to salvage it with some work. Does anyone know if they just sell the plastic case parts separately?

Status update on the sexiest SE in the world: It's a mess of glue residue and torn art now :(

I have no idea what i'm going to do with it now. Laminating it is too thick (can't secure it down because of that DAMN BEND) and causes eventual air bubbles, there is no kinkos anywhere near where i live, and using self-apply paper protectors didn't work out too well either.

I wish there was a plexi or something for the SE...but alas that bend + awkward screw placements makes that impossible.

I sincerely hope you made the person who did that dumb shit pay for the replacement.

Exactly my own thinking!

This is why I DON'T lend hardware out to other people.
I know I take care of things but many other people DON'T.

You have irresponsible dumb shits that pretend to be friends who don't take of their stuff let alone other people's property!

You honestly thank they'll pay you back after they trash a joystick?????
In your dreams, honestly!

Is this coming to NA?

I'd hope that Hori would release the HRAP V3-SE outside of Japan, too, but I just don't see it happening...

They had an opportunity to do this with the HRAP 3 SE during the year of SF4 when joystick sales were crazy but didn't... Seimitu parts sticks do tend to be a lot more limited at least as far as the PS3 releases go. I think there are still enough people in North America who prefer Seimitsu parts to do a limited run of at least 300-500 SE sticks for the States and Canada, too.

For that matter, I find it funny that some of the alternate 360 SE sticks make it to the US but NONE of the Hori PS3 variants have so far. Guess which system's joysticks are generally harder to find and buy at near MSRP now????

Their "quick look" is too quick, bah. I'm happy about the quick disconnects, but I kind of expected them after seeing the internal design.

I like the Liu Kang trailer they posted, though. Not sure if it's new, but it's the first gameplay footage I've seen. Looks like MK2 and recent Tekken titles had a baby. One of the juggles looks exactly like a bound combo, heh...and I'm digging the tag mode. So now I'm starting to lean towards a pre-order of this beast.

If someone busted a stick like that at a local gathering I was at, I'd make damn sure that:
1) that jerk would be barred from all further local tournaments unless they bought a replacement. I'd spread that word like butter on a roll. Lots of butter.
2) if the jerk doesn't buy a replacement, I'd chip in towards one, and try to get a bunch of people to help.

Hopefully this can happen for you as well.

I know the common thinking is that Sanwa is for fighters and Seimitsu is for shooters. Anyone here prefer full Seimitsu for their fighting games?

I can't speak for anyone else, but my preferred setup ATM for fighters is a Sanwa JLF with octo gate, and either Seimitsu PS-14-GN or PS-14-G buttons.

What do i need to change the square gate to an octagonal gate. Just the octagonal gate from lizard lick? I want to mod my TE.

Ouch. Did he at least offer to buy the new stick for you? If not that's pretty dickish.

MarkMan when are the Mortal Kombat TE panel tops going to start shipping?

I ordered one today but is it coming out with MK9 hits or now?

They are available now/shipping already.

Probabably. I'm curious to see what they look like though. At the very least, they might become an option for cheap wooden stick cases.
I'm actually surprised there isn't a mass market stick case. There are plenty of aftermarket buttons, stick, and circuit boards available.

Awesome, how long does the panel replacement take you'd say? Is it easy to switch back to the standard panel?

Thanks for the kickass product.

It's really easy and can take anyone about 20-30 minutes to install. I can do one in under ten minutes if I rush. It's very easy to switch back to standard panels. Everything is labeled inside the TE.

What I'd recommend if you want quick swaps, have a set of buttons/stick already dedicated to each panel so all it'll be is a matter of plugging things in and out.

Anyone have tips for replacing the square gate on a stock SF4 SE stick? I can;t get the damned tabs to depress to get the plate off and it's killing my fingertips.

The guy that broke it said he'd get me the money in the next couple weeks but I'm not holding out too much hope of that actually happening. In all fairness to my friend though, if some guy had been smashing my stick in front of me I probably would not have stepped in to try and stop him either.

Live and learn I guess, it sucks but I probably won't loan out my sticks again if I'm not there to keep an eye on it.

On the bright side I am going to salvage the parts and turn it into a stick that works on both 360 and PS3. I just ordered the TEasy Strike kit.

I ended up using a flat head screw driver to apply the pressure instead of my finger and just being gentle with it. It was much easier than using my fingers.

i have what i believe to be a seimitsu ls-32 joystick on my custom stick. sometimes i feel that its too loose. are their any other models or sanwas that are a bit more stiff? thanks.
