Hey, it's my first time posting in this thread!

I just got some Sanwa buttons for my HRAP. Kept the same theme though. It's nothing special, but I think it's slick.

I'm going to be doing something a little more special with my Tatsunoko stick, though.

Here's the art.

And I'll be doing orange buttons and dyeing the case light blue. Any ideas on something a little better than printing a lamilabel?

Is there anyway to take the xbox controller board from the street fighter SE stick and install it into the tourney edition? I was going to buy the ps360 board for the SE stick and I didnt want to buy another for the tourney. Thanks ahead for any ideas on if i can do this and/or how.

They both use the same boards and wiring harnesses, so yes.

Try gameongraffix (formerly mamemarquees.com) for some high quality vinyl printing.

Anything over A4 and you can't do much but spend alot of money for something high quality. There are ways of getting decent results it on A4 if you have your own A4 laminator guaranteed without air bubbles.

What's the difference between the WWE All Stars Brawl Stick and the SE? stick art and button colours?

Been looking into getting a stick. Nothing cheap used anywhere, I've been checking for a while. But.. apparently a local Gamestop has new Brawl sticks for 90$ and used SE sticks for $80. Buying arcade sticks used is generally a bad idea I'm guessing? I know TE is the generally accepted way to go but any TE would cost me $180+ and that's out of my budget I think for a first arcade stick. So yeah would y'all spend the extra 10 for the new stick over the old one? I guess if longevity is a huge factor.

Really with Madcatz would send more across the border to Canada.

Here's a picture of mine when I had modded mine last year...

Hey GAF. I know that this uses the good old Sanwa parts, but I thought I would ask what you guys think of this particular arcade stick:

Hey, Arcade Stick GAF. I'm looking to dual mod my Xbox 360 Madcatz TE stick to also work with my PS3. A friend of mine tipped me off to an "Imp switch" and he said it's a solder-less solution to get my TE stick working on a PS3. Is he correct? If so, can anyone point me in the right direction to acquiring one?

Thanks.

If you can get it under $150, I don't see why not.

I have the PS3 version (HRAP V3-SA). It's a great stick, but a bit on the light side.
The lightness does make it better for traveling in a shoulder bag though. Much less strain on you than a TE or OG HRAP.

FYI, for anyone looking for a PS3 Street Fighter TE, I just ordered one from Capcom's store for $103.00. It says $129, but for some reason it took $26 off in the cart. Just though I would pass it along. XB360 is out of stock, however.

Finally finished my Ken/Juri TE-S! (click to embiggen)

At the moment it's PS3 only, but I'll be putting a PS360+ in it whenever it ships from focusattack.com (been delayed three times already :\ )

You're looking for these, but there's more to it than just wiring up the buttons, unfortunately. The item's description has a link to a Shoryuken thread on how to get it all set up. Some guy on SRK also sells his own LED boards that work in a similar fashion.

Thanks for the reply! I forgot I asked in this thread. Is the person you're talking about the person who runs Focus Attack?

Thanks for the heads up, i got it with the discount, plus it removes shipping cost when you checkout, not a bad deal!

Hmm any reviews on the Qanba Q4 3in1 stick?

Cbf modding my PS3 or 360 stick so I've been looking at this one. xD
Just can't seem to find any good info on it.
I got the Qanba Q4 RAF last week, and it's great. Is there anything specific you want to know about it? Too bad I didn't see your post until now.

Here's a few details from my time with it:

  • Works perfectly fine with the 360 and PS3; lights up blue when plugged into the 360 and red for the PS3
  • For some reason, you have to press the home button after plugging it into a PS3 *shrug*
  • It's about the same size as my Round 2 TE and even a bit heavier (that's around 7 pounds!)
  • I think it's a good looking stick, and I like how there's no protruding screws on the top panel
  • The joystick and buttons are Sanwa and perform as well as expected, but the start button is a knockoff (but I don't really care since it's just a start button :P)
  • I can't comment on the insides or moddability since I bought it so I would have a 360/PS3 joystick with no modding necessary -- I haven't opened it
  • The handle is useful for when I move it around

Is Focus Attack the only place that sells the akishop 360? They're backordered for another week and a half...
As far as I've seen, yeah. I've had a preorder there since April. :\ At least I'll get to keep the same price, since the owner of the site said the price may go up when the PS360+'s actually arrive.

Sweet! Does anyone know a process for gutting the xbox Street fighter SE and installing the Xbox controller PCB into a TE stick?

Just picked up this bad boy for $95 from someone:

How can I modify the artwork if wanted? (I am an arcade stick noob).

MarkMan does MadCatz have a booth at e3 this year?

Thank you very much for the reply. All the info i really need. It being heavy actually seals the deal, so I'll definitely be picking one up in the future.

Thanks again.

The RT/LT buttons on my MvC2(TE) stick are being dodgy. They stop responding, but work immediately if I reset the connection. It's becoming a bit more frequent lately. My friend had a similar problem with his old SE... is there a way to permanently fix this?

Might be a grounding issue with the PCB. I had the same issue with my TE a couple of years ago and sent it to MadCatz. Turnaround was like a month though :/

Unless the buttons are dying (which is difficult to determine unless you do this) take a piece of stranded wire, remove one of the QDs from the smaller PCB where all the buttons connect to, put a bit of the exposed wire through the hole then replace the QD (it will be tight, just be careful not to snap anything by pushing too hard). Unscrew one of the screws holding the mounting plate on the stick to the top plate (not entirely unscrew!), wrap the exposed wire on THIS end around the screw a little bit, screw it down tight and make sure it stays put if you give it a gentle tug.

This should actually fix the grounding issue for the buttons. If it still happens after this, the little PCB itself may be going bad.

I have this stick. It's a great stick and the form factor is significantly better than the previous Hori one used in the older HRAPs. It is lighter and I like it that way. The stick also incorporates the handy cable storage compartment just like the Mad Catz TE. On the whole, I highly recommend it and would buy it over the TE sticks.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the only downside to the stick and that is it only accommodates the newer 360 headsets. The old 360 headsets where the connector part is a chunky piece of plastic cannot be used with this stick.

How are those smooth screws called? I want to change the screws on my HRAP.EX (they're rusting!) and also make the panel liftable from the front. Ii'm tired of having to disassemble the back to be able to remove the nuts so the front panel will come out.

Also, does anybody know how would I fix the screws from the top? Gluing the nuts on the back?

I can't find step-by-step idiot proof step-by-step procedures for something like that. Anybody has any good information to share?

Thanks again, this thread is great!

Edit: Hey, I guess doing some research actually pays off. Tek Innovations.com has everything I'd need, including the frontal screw mod for my HRAP.EX. Too bad shipping down here (Brazil) is horribly overpriced. 31 shipping bucks for 6 screws? what the hell

Oh well, back to polishing the rusted screws.

If anyone is willing to trade a 360 SE stick for a USED PS3 RD.1 TE stick, PM me. My VSHG is not playing nice with MK, it won't jump straight up, or duck. I can only duck if I hold the block button. I'm not going to re-mod this shit again. This kind of problem happens with VF5, but you could fix it by turning of the triggers in the button config, something you can't do in MK. You can't turn buttons off :(

I don't know if this really fits the thread. This is a funny little thing I made, because I was playing Pinball FX 2 and wanted my flippers to feel like flippers.

A fairly simple setup as you can see. Inside the 360 controller I've run wires from the shoulder button switches to a jack on the side of the controller. Plug ROLF into this jack and voilà - the big white slappers now mimic the shoulder button function.

(You can see blue buttons underneath the controller too; these are also extensions of the shoulders and were present long before this new pinball mod. It's awesome having access to them under there.)

It all ends up looking a bit frankensteinish, but I'm ok with that. I'm not even that good at Pinball FX, but damn it's fun to mash mash mash those flippers.

I've got a question, I bought my first stick a little while back, a Chun Li TE, but when trying to learn to play on it I noticed that the ball on the top turns and I really, kind of, sort of hate it. I tend to rest my hand and it'll unknowingly change where it sits on the stick and I often find myself pushing wrong directions. I haven't ended up playing much of anything as a result. What can I do to alleviate this?

The ball top is sopposed to spin around. Unless you means it's loose in which case it will unscrew off.

Hmm. This seems easy enough. Are there any sites that collect premade templates? Also I'm assuming they ship worldwide? Just got my TE Round 2 this week but I'd have vastly prefered to get a Chun-Li or Marvel stick as I don't really like the art on the normal TEs. Alas no place that had Chun-Li or Marvel sticks would ship them to me.

I don't think there are any places that sell pre-made templates due to the likelihood of copyright infringement. There are places were you can obtain free user-created templates like shoryken.com's stick art threads though.
