I'd say it is. I have the same FFTA cart (ESRB logo on cart) and the battery died out after a year or so so now I can't save. It also periodically locks up.

The strangest thing is that I'm pretty sure I bought that sealed and new from a store (probably EB, possibly Walmart). I mean, I obviously didn't since it's a bootleg... but my memory is convinced that I did.

Just to warn you, dont expect too much of devil may cry 2, I guess I did at first but was able to enjoy it despite the huge expetations..

Why do you believe the cartridge is fake? It looks legitimate to me, but I have no prior experience with pirate cartridges, so I wouldn't really know the difference. Is there any other signs besides the ESRB logo?

The label is what caught my eye. The original has no mage on it. This page shows how to identify fakes.

Thanks for the link. It doesn't have "Nintendo" printed on the edge of the cartridge connectors, so I guess it's a fake then. I'm sending some henchmen to the seller to set things straight.

I remember this coming up in a thread before, but what about the ESRB logo being on the cartridge is a giveaway that it's a bootleg?

Living in Canada, it's actually quite possible that you purchased a bootleg from an otherwise legit retailer. We have a huge rate of counterfeit goods that get sold in stores here. Hell, for all I know, this is a bootleg...

Its the Logitech G25, it has dual force feedback motors and 900 degree rotation as well a bit pricey (250 euros) but its supreme.

Considering you are all obviously wise and weathered consumers I thought this may be a good spot for this question; is it at all possible to find a copy of FFVII for under $50? I had one when I was a kid but hell if I know what happened to it, sadly. Probably sold at a rummage sale or some such travesty. I don't necessarily mind paying the price, but I'll have a PS3 next week and some time on my hands and was sort of hoping to revisit the game.

My PC version was getting difficult to run without crashing on Windows XP, so I got the platinum version (brand new) for PS for $35 a few months ago. Are you in NTSC or PAL region? It looks slightly better on PS3, the added smoothing improves the text readability a lot.

also as a gift to myself before I leave Hong Kong I bought some MGS4 figurines which come in those randomized boxes. They sold the opened boxes for a bit more but I decided to take my chances a save a few bucks and luckily got Snake and Raiden!

I'm in the US. The only place I've really checked is on ebay and half.com. I don't particularly mind paying $50ish bucks, I just didn't want to be a sucker about it.

Oh...then I guess $50 is alright, amazon.com has it listed at $75.

Here in Europe you can still buy it from the stores. Too bad the PS3 can't handle other regions. At least you have access to a lot more games then we do. I'm still waiting for an opportunity to play Chrono Trigger (from the Final Fantasy Chronicles compilation) and Chrono Cross. Hopefully they'll someday be released on the PSN.

they are definitely cool. they are called kubricks and i also have the full set from the MGS2 game and i have every single version of Naked Snake from the MGS3 game. those came out years ago. they are very rare now. i can take pics of them to show you if you're interested ^^

works PERFECTLY with ps3, has mute button aswell

I have had 2 of these. They are pretty good, though I broke both. One I broke because of spilling a drink on it, and the other because I got into a really bad habit of chewing the wires while I played. The mute button SUCKS. You will hit it on accident so many times; it is very sensitive. I was playing with my buddies in so many matches and they were like "dude your vent icon is lit up but you aren't saying anything". My mic now doesn't have a mute button, and has a similar audio/mic quality.
