MWIII TTK is almost perfect, but the downside of short TTK is that you'll have less actual fights, and it mainly comes down to who sees who first, though this is where becoming good at movement comes in to play, so you can quickly escape and turn the tables; in a slower paced game like Halo the longer TTK can make more interesting encounters.

Short because there's nothing more frustrating in a shooter than seeing a guy survive multiple shots to the head for his buddies to hear the gunshots and take you out

I feel like short also incentivises team play, you have to cover, use gadgets like smoke, barriers, skills, etc. For instance I loved Bad Company 2. That game had a high ttk compared to cod at the time, but games now a day have a huge ttk, like apex, the finals, fortnite, etc. I would say If i can kill 3 persons with one mag, its good. I cant do that in apex or the finals.

If everything incentivizes teamplay then nothing incentivizes teamplay.

I always liked longer TTK, because it requires more skill in a 1 to 1 fight.

But.. with lower TTK you can actually stand a chance when you are outnumbered. Hunt: Showdown has one of the lowest TTK I've experienced and that game is great, mostly because the guns are really slow. You can have a 1 vs 3 fight and still end up on top when you (re)position yourself right, aim well and use the tools in an intelligent way.

Longer TTK is more interesting when you have a fight against equal odds. Like in Apex: Legends in 3v3. But you really don't stand a chance when you are outnumbered in that game.

So it really depends on the game and game mode.

Depends on the game.

In general, all CODS are short TTK, but there is still a distinctive range between those games.

The only thing that can combat being thrown on far flung servers is a longer TTK. Totally fed up of being killed around corners and what appears like a single shot in COD.

So for COD, give me Cold War TTK.

I prefer long. You have more time to use tactics and express your playstyle, whereas short TTK is whoever camped auto-wins.

Halo, TF2 and OW were some of the best.

I play only Hardcore on CoD. That should answer the question for that type of game.

Short TTK favours tactical play and you're always on edge to not get hit at all. Long TTK you get shot turn around and depending on your connection and how much you like to bunnyhop you're likely to survive being outsmarted.

Cs2 is the gold standard for short ttk. You can die from one bullet and when you die you don't respawn until the round is over. This prevents COD style brain rot. Every move and sight angle needs to be considered. Utility items are absolutely necessary to be good.

But long TTK can be great too. Fights in Deadlock are like a dance, managing abilities, chipping enemy health while last hitting mobs for cash, while keeping an eye out for ganks or opportunities. You can die fast, but the enemy might be visible on your screen for several minutes before one of you gets the upper hand, and that's awesome.

Prefer different weapons that dictate ttk depending on the skill or ability needed to get the best out of them.
