Oh well after this debacle, I expect to see Matthews utilized as a fulltime RB moving forward. This game was lost by lack of ball control with a big lead...

No, the game was lost by Rivers. And no Matthews is going to be a fulltime anything in this offense.

BTW, these waiver settings suck. Only the last place team with the fewest points after the week is done every week will have a shot at the Top waiver grab. At least making them Continuous would've spread it out. If a top team didn't use waivers for 2-3 weeks, they could possibly wait themselves into a #1 spot. No chance with Weekly Rolling.

There's an amusing situation in another league I'm in and I wanted to run it by you guys to hear your opinion.

So we play on yahoo also but we do a live draft because we have keepers and the commish inputs the players later.

So he inputted the players like a week or more before the season starts and apparently entered one player incorrectly on someone's team (both players have the same last name and apparently the Commish didnt double check).

Now I don't want to name the players involved as to not away opinions of the situation but I will later.

So the team with the wrong player set their week 1 lineup and didnt even notice the mistake. Another team picked up the original player from free agency right before week 1 games kicked off. And played that player.

It still hasn't been noticed.

What do you think? Is it the responsibility of the league participants to point out the mistake or is it the team's fault for not checking to make sure their roster was correct?

A few of us currently know and are not pointing it out.

After some replies ill add a M Night Shamalyan twist to the story that adds another layer.

It's the fault of the commish directly for inputting the wrong player. By not saying anything keep in mind the owner of that team could set up a helluva "you screwed my team" protest for later on, which could screw the whole league the later it gets. Point that shit out ASAP...

Take it from someone who "whines and complains" all the time, it's always better to fix stuff early than later. ;)

Welcome to my world over the past 3 seasons. Almost always in first. Always with shitty waiver priority. No changes this season after Week 1.

You weren't complaining when you were benefiting from weekly rolling 2 seasons ago.

I agree. If there is money on the line and it was an honest mistake by the commish it should be rectified sooner rather than later. Shame on the owner who didn't catch the error right away though.

Ok the M Night Shamalyan twist to the story is that the owner given the wrong player.... Is the Commish's wife.

Two questions:

1. did the wife get a better player or worse player due to the mix up?
2. did the player who was picked up on free agency make a big enough impact to win / lose the game? (ie was it a close game?)

1. The Commish's error gave the wife a far worse player. Basically got an undraftable rb for a wr3, which instead was left in free agency.

2. The team that picked up the wr3 played him but still lost the game. Oh and that team played the commish this week.

3. Had the wife realized the error and played the wr3 this week that should have been on her team instead of the wr3 she played, she would have won.

Its kinda shocking its gone unnoticed.

Some more background, the commish has done shenanigans in the past, including trying to help his wife win games so that is likely the reason the two or three ppl who know about it aren't saying anything.

I agree that it's kinda immature maybe that I didn't say anything but ... I dunno I kinda feel like you should be responsible for your own team.

a) Two season ago we didn't know how it worked fully, at least I didn't. After learning fully about other settings hell yeah I wanted off it.
b) ... WE VOTED TO CHANGE IT LAST SEASON!!! Did I not just spend like 10 posts detailing this earlier and cloudy inexplicably changed it back the day before the draft? Selective memory doesn't suit you, Ubertag. Lemme quote this so you understand.

What's next, switch to playoff reseeding after every round again right before the playoffs begin?

boo hoo, the better teams don't get first crack at waivers.

Imagine how frustrating it is for a team stuck in the bottom third, or last place, trying to grab the hot new add off the WW, only to see one of the top teams in the league snag them because of non-weekly rolling.

Last year someone in another league of mine got frustrated with dez bryant and cut him before week 7 or 8. The first place team got him and proceeded to run off and hide.

Fuck that shit.

Again, I did no such thing. All the changes are listed on the Yahoo site.

I really feel this is the best way with a shallow FA pool (helps keep the losing managers invested). Also, no one else is complaining...

Just pointing it out here, I did my complaining about it weeks ago. #FAABin2014 #ComeOnMan

To ease the tension and soothe frayred nerves enjoy this:

Of course the guy I'm playing this week picks up Edelman, and he wasn't even lowest on waivers. We really gotta do FAAB next year.

I was that guy and why? I lost and was 2nd lowest due to my loss and points. Someone just wanted Kellen Winslow worse than Edelman first.

Exactly. I had claims for edelman and marlon brown and I got neither. Such is life when you are in the top half of the standings. People whining about going to FAAB or non-rolling waivers or whatever are just mad because they didn't get a player. Boo hoo, it's not fair, waaaaah.

The current waiver system is the best. Worse teams get first crack to make their teams more competitive, hold their owners interest more, and makes for a more interesting league.

Too late to change the rules now but I personally much prefer continuous rolling waivers. Adds another layer of strategy to the game imo. If you have a high waiver pick do you sit on it waiting for the opportune moment or do you roll the dice with unknown players early?

Adds for an added layer of strategy but assfucks balance in the process.

Just like last year, majority of people don't check their emails for trades. Always have to cancel them come Saturday.

That's still happening? Jesus.

I posted a thread on the League page matching team names to owners. Hopefully people look at that and check their PMs.

I'd feel some modicum of sympathy if I ever had a trade request cross my path from you that wasn't essentially an attempted fleecejob.

The best trades are ones that mutually benefit both owners. I would start by observing which owners have bye week conflicts at certain positions either due to poor drafting or injuries and go from there.

A lot of owners think that a lopsided offer is just a "starting" point, but not me. If the offer is really lopsided, chances are i'll just ignore you for the rest of the year.

Really unhappy with Moreno's big game cos it took away potential endzone targets for Thomas. Hopefully my cushion is big enough lol

Lost in both my other leagues due to injuries. I need this

yesss. Doug Martin's 2nd half has only got me 2 points behind. As long as Giovanni Bernard doesn't die between now and gametime, I should be on my way to 2-0!
