I go back to gamestop to pick up the case/manual for Atelier Rorona.

They hand me a new copy of Atelier Totori (the sequel).

You know what? Fuck it. I'm okay with this.

Awesome deal. On top of that if you just go into a store that has Atelier Rorona used and tell them what happened to you, they will let you take the case, cover art and manual for your game. That way you will have a complete Atelier Rorona too!

Pic 01: Hakuoki limited edition + my new pink PSP-2000 I picked up earlier in the month in Osaka + Persona 2 character strap. Forget all of this Vita nonsense—OG PSP is where it's still at! *heh*

Pic 02: A majority of my purchases from my most recent Japan trip. You'll, uhhh, notice a certain pattern to some of the purchases if you know enough about various topics. *laughs* I found a section of a bookstore and went a little crazy. (And no, none of it is porn!) Covered-up PS2 game is Dance Summit 2001 (never tried it, and it was only 500 yen).

Pic 03: Just for fun, the chu-hi (type of Japanese alcohol) offerings I brought back. I'm a sucker for trying out different kinds of chu-hi.

I also picked up a Kratos God of War PSP-2000 - I've wanted one for a while to add to our collection, and I finally found a minty one for a very reasonable price, so I grabbed it...

And, of course, Metal Gear Solid 3DS came out this week... Vita may be distracting me but I'm a MGS fanboy from the first! I've put a couple hours in on it already...

Grabbed the 3G version with 16gb memory card, HSG, Uncharted and Wipeout 2048 which was part of the 3G deal.

Also, got the starter kit for the PSP-style pouch and it's good!

It's not just pink... it's sparkly pink! I'm loving it so much, and not just because of the color. I went to this from a PSP-1000 with a broken UMD drive, so this was a major, major change. It's really made me fall in love with the PSP all over again, and has made me forget about the Vita for the time being.

Most of the manga is indeed Wandering Son. The one on top of those is "Boku wa, Onna no ko", a side-story from the same artist about the character of Yuki from WS (and her own personal events).

The one on the left is "I want to become a girl", the first volume of a series of guide books for the up and coming onnanoko! I'm fascinated with the rise of the whole subculture in Japan, so thought it would be interesting. Turned out to be 95% text, which will take me quite a while to wade through. *heh*

After waiting for I don't even remember how long now (it must have been at least 6 months, probably more) - I finally got approved two weeks ago! This is definitely my favorite thread on NeoGAF, and I've been waiting for a pickup worth posting to the thread. Here's what I found yesterday at Rasputin on Telegraph Ave. (Anyone else in Berkeley-GAF?)

God Hand was disk-only for 50 cents, Zelda Collector's Edition was Case+Disk for $5.95, and Pikmin was mint and complete for 95 cents.

I was also lucky enough to find this:

Really great find. I would give the first game a try if you haven't played it and see how you like it (keep in mind the second eases up on the time-related aspects of the game if that becomes an issue).

Pikmin 2 is a great game, so definitely play through it first to see if it's something you'd want to keep!

how's the screen protector?

I messed it up the first 2 times and had to buy a new one, but I chock that up to the dustiness of my house and forgetting to lock myself in a room where the cat wouldn't jump up near it. The new one I bought worked the first time after I got a proper cloth to wipe it down. The template it comes with is a godsend.

Haha, I was looking at Craigslist one day and a guy was selling his Gamecube with a few games including Pikmin 2 for 60 bucks, and I asked him if I could buy Pikmin 2. He offered to sell the game by itself for 5 bucks and I jumped on the deal. Not as good as 95 cents but an awesome deal for an awesome game. Nice pick-ups.
