I suppose. I had an infant son pass so I'm not scared of death. Life goes on till it doesnt.
What cultures are you referring to that are so accepting of death?Perfectly fair take to have.
I don't shy away from stuff like this because I think death is an important aspect of life and One that's basically swept under the rug and hidden in developed countries. It's like an entire facet of the human experience that contemporary culture says we need no exposure or preparation for.
What cultures are you referring to that are so accepting of death?
That crash is pretty unbelievable.
ATR-72 is a really robust, reliable aircraft that can land and take off in challenging conditions on very short runways. We have tons of them here in French Polynesia and it blows my mind see them operate in storms.
The aircraft that crashed was just 15 years old, the conditions were clear, and by the looks of it, the area was populated which would indicate a decent runway. The video doesn’t look like a suicide dive either - so I would lean towards a catastrophic technical or human failure
I legit find it hard to believe that not only could the phone have survived that but it kept on recording with a working camera and streaming with a working antenna to the nearest cell tower.
Was this confirmed as real? In the other videos the plane turns completely on its side before it crashed and the video doesn't seem to show that?
Hindustan Times reposted it, so they think that it's legitimate.
I mean, you don't live in one of the world's poorest countries, rife with corruption, and one if the worst air safety records, plus not exactly the best terrain to fly in.Fucking hell. So the plane went on its side and crashed within seconds? Thank fucking god I don't usually have to fly for work. I don't know if I could fly again without having a small internal panic attack every time now after that video.
"Normal flight" to literal hell on earth in seconds.
Was this confirmed as real? In the other videos the plane turns completely on its side before it crashed and the video doesn't seem to show that?
In the moments before Nepal’s deadliest air crash in decades on Sunday, four friends from India who were onboard began excitedly recording the descent on a Facebook live video.
It turns on its side on the video right before the flames startWas this confirmed as real? In the other videos the plane turns completely on its side before it crashed and the video doesn't seem to show that?
I don't see the logic. I don't see why we should witness cruel and horrible videos because childbirth is a part of life.It straddles the line between being absolutely evil and voyeuristic, but if death is a part of life, then it should be held in the same regard as videos of childbirth, in a all's fair and equal world.
I’d just think of this. The first couple seconds where you just have to accept you are going to die because you are in a plane and there's nothing you can do about it. That's horrifying.
These videos are reality. Its okay if you can’t handle it.I don't see the logic. I don't see why we should witness cruel and horrible videos because childbirth is a part of life.
People generally become more vile and extreme the more bad things they see. There is a reason why the worst people come from war zones.
There are hundreds of videos of terrorist and cartel attacks where people get gutted in high definition all over the internet, and it's one of the chief reasons why we have seen an increase in various forms of terror attacks. Almost all of the psychopaths are talking about how they use these videos to get used to violence. It's cultivating crazy fucks all over the world.
I can't get my mind around why these sorts of videos don't get scarped from the internet as other illegal activities do. Frankly, murder videos are the worst and most damaging videos you can put online, but it's everywhere.
There is a huge difference between realism and video games. Do you think child porn is "just reality" too, and that you should "handle it"?These videos are reality. Its okay if you can’t handle it.
Do you have any studies backing up your claims? Do you also believe violence in video games creates violent people?
Child porn? What does that have to do with a plane crash video? There is a huge difference between realism and video games. Do you think child porn is "just reality" too, and that you should "handle it"?
I'm not specifically talking about the plane video, but murder videos, like the cartel videos. It should be targeted and scraped from the internet like child porn, it facilitates behavior.Child porn? What does that have to do with a plane crash video?
Oh sure. I haven’t watched those and don’t care to. But I am also not sure that those can create tendencies to want to commit such acts. I’m not a psychologist though and I’m guessing you aren’t either.I'm not specifically talking about the plane video, but murder videos, like the cartel videos. People who are violent have almost always either experienced violent things or followed others that do. So it's common practice that people should stay away from any form of violent trauma, and some of these videos can cause trauma. It's common that terrorists are fans of others who have done such acts and religiously watch gruesome videos online.Oh sure. I haven’t watched those and don’t care to. You've the right way of thinking and you'd be no better off for watching it trust me.Once my dad told me a story when he was at work they heard that a guy down the street had killed himself by shooting himself in teh face with a shotgun. Him and his buddies thought it would be cool/interesting to go check it out. He went there and just just told me quietly (years later) that he wished he never saw that.
I took that advice to heart and try not to watch real life gore or truly terrifying stuff. Some people can stomach that. Some people have to do that by their job or in a war. A friend of mine worked on an ambulance and saw stuff like that. Its just not for me though.
Not an expert but that looked like a stall so your flight surfaces have no control and you're at the mercy of gravity and physics at that point. Terrible stuff
Nearly 350 people have died since 2000 in plane or helicopter crashes in Nepal - home to eight of the world's 14 highest mountains, including Everest - where sudden weather changes can make for hazardous conditions.
The European Union has banned Nepali airlines from its airspace since 2013, citing safety concerns.
Unless you're a psychopath etc, watching videos like this is bad for you. You "move on" but not really. You can carry a small piece of that with you forever, especially if it's as traumatic as people are saying.
Planning to go hiking there in a few months. The tigers were already giving me second thoughts, but now this?Completely unsurprising.
I've flown in Nepal a lot. Honestly, I preferred it when they used the Mi-17s for passenger transport. Loud and shakey as fuck, but they tended to be much more reliable. And in the mountains, it really doesn't matter if a plane can glide, as there's nowhere to emergency land.
And the corruption in Nepal is astounding. Absolutely no surprise that there's no decent weather radar and aviation forecasting service there.

This.I feel like being a psychopath watching videos like this would be worse than a well adjusted person doing it, haha

Morocco. One of the girls studied close to my hometown. Some sick fucks sent the video to their mother after the incident, that's messed up.I think they're referring to the video of the 2 hitchikers in iirc Pakistan. They're sleeping in a tent, 2 men walk in and start sawing them at the neck. The girls are screaming for their mother the whole time, choking on their blood
Rotten bring back some school memories dude...When I went to university, I was 20 or so, we usually used the computer from the lab to surf on the internet because back in the day it was way more faster than our 56k at home , and there was this girl from my age, a good and nice girl, that used to see images on rotten.com like if she was swapping videos on tiktok. This was the first time I heard about rotten.com and those sites.
seriously. disturbing to even read. I am out of this thread I honestly can't take this.
Wish I hadn't read that, jeez.
