As to how you can get that big? I knew a guy that was pretty skinny/in shape before college, and after a year or two, he was a BLIMP. Eating three pizzas, wings, and cinnamon sticks a night will do that to you I guess. I've never seen people stare and comment on someone's weight before, but I went to movies with a friend and him once, and I felt bad for him. He didn't seem to care and just got the largest tub of popcorn I've ever seen. I hope he's done something about his weight; it's been like three years since I saw the guy.

i may have to side with Olimario in part on this one. It really ISN'T that hard to lose weight, especially if you don't let yourself get to the point where you can't even wipe your own ass. Just cut down on all the junkfood/fast food/candy/soda and shit. For what it costs to get a super value meal at McDonalnds, you can go to the supermarket and get the ingredients for a weeks worth of relatively healthy sandwiches. Unless there is some kind of condition or disease involved that causes weight gains in people, its mostly just laziness. But if this guy is happy with his weight and it doesn't really bother him, let him be. More power to him.

Well listen, there's overweight people, fat people, and morbidly fat people.
Lots of america is overweight, but at that point its managable. Once it gets past this point however it just shows you either have medical problems and no health coverage, or you just arent even trying.
It isnt EASY to stay in shape. Yes its doable, but the modern lifestyle doesnt lend itself to lots of exercise OR proper eating. On top of that most people wear themselves out so much during the rest of the weak mentally that accomplishing anything physically when there's time off to do so is difficult.
Believe it or not, not everyone likes to work out and 'feel the rush', so it takes a little more incentive to get the ball rolling.
If a person is wearing sweats around town in place of pants, they need to try harder. Am I being mean? Probably, but chances are they need it. How you handle negative reinforcement is up to you, but its entirely obvious positive reinforcement doesnt work.
Fat isnt pretty, it isnt healthy, and it makes your life more work that it needs to be. There MUST be some effort instead of bizzare acceptance, pride, or capitulation.
