NERDVENGERS ASSEMBLE! Ultimate Superhero theme compilation project!

I was listening to A Fistful of Soundtrack at work the other day, and Jim Aquino had put together a show all about superhero themes. Ranging from good (Superman title) to awful (60's Batman theme). Which got me to thinking how completely great some of these themes are.

So I want to compile my ultimate list of hero themes. Please limit these musical suggestions to spandex clad ninnies, or similar Marvel / DC fare.

I'll start off with:

1. John Williams - Superman Theme
2. John Button - Batman Beyond (Main Title)
2. Danny Elfman - Flash TV Opening
3. Danny Elfman - Batman Theme
4. Marco Beltrami - Blade II (main title)

As you can tell, I'm missing a few. Elfman's Spiderman opening may or not be on that list. I have to listen to it again, out of context of the movie - which I hated.

Suggest away!

That's just great.

The first persons to answer my call are Aquaman and US Agent. :/

Aquaman is a DC character. :p

Smells faintly of rancid stilton.
You already mentioned all the great ones that stand out to me... The Superman theme is really great. I would also add X-men animated series and Batman animated series theme

If I wanted to make a verbatim copy of that list, I would have done it myself. The Aquino list needs tweaking!

Aquaman is a DC character. :p

You're now demoted to Chlorophyll Kid!

Who made the Batman animated series opening? Was that Elfman too?

from Wikipedia
The series was partially inspired by Tim Burton's 1989 blockbuster Batman film, and initially took as its theme a variation of music written by Danny Elfman for the film. (Later episodes of the series used a new theme written in a similar style by Shirley Walker

I've got a couple MP3s of tracks from the 60s Justice League album, a swinging, bizarre "Metamorpho" and "Aquaman."
*edit- Apparently, the album is from the early 70s.

Also, I'd throw in the theme from the 70s Wonder Woman series. It's so classic. I'd also kill to get my hands on a decent recording of Batgirl's theme from the 60s Batman live action series.

How about R.E.M.'s "Superman"?

I'm thinking more of really inspiring stuff.

R.E.M. doesn't inspire me to much.

Speaking of which - I just acquired the Sega Saturn Shirow theme!

This is going on the play list!
