NES Collectors!!!!!!

yeah ive seen the gold one go for over 5k. it was only given to a few nintendo power contest winners. the white label was given to the contests finalists. i believe from each tournament

3 mini games
first level of mario collect as many coins possible
1st level of rad racer, get as many points as possible
tetris get highest score possible

total score determined the winnar

90 given in tournament play 26 givien to nintendo power winners

i must refrain. my fiance would kill me. this would pretty much top off my collection. im only missing about 50 games and i have all the rest boxed with instructions. this cart would look out of place though because there was no box for it

Would you really spend $4-5k for the gold cart boxed?

honestly...............no . 2k would probably be the max i would spend. im not much of a collecter for any other systems. i mean i have them all and a bunch of games, but nes is my favorite and im desperatly trying to complete the collection. this would just be icing on the cake

What's the deal with the exposed chip on the cart? What do those numbers mean?
That's not a chip (an integrated circuit), it's a DIP (dual inline package) switch for changing four configuration settings. Maybe it was used for fiddling with difficulty settings or something, unless they had some basic manual bankswitching setup to select between the active roms. Anyone know how the contests were run?

its jsut the game selector, if you just want to play a certain game instead of doing the competition. say you just want to play the level of rad racer. you move the chip. alot of the quattro games have this switch, but i think its for nes compatability issues with those

i explained how the competition was run earlier in the thread. every competitior got a chance to play all 3 games and the highest scores advanced. im pretty sure there were regional tournaments as well

No, the switches are not for switching between games. They are for selecting how long the session will last. When you start, you go through the games in the same order every time. First one level of SMB, then you need to get so-and-so many points in Tetris, and lastly you just drive Rad Racer until the time is up. A few years since I tried mine, but that's how I remember it.

Nintendo Campus Challenge for Super NES is way more rare and really proprietary. It comes on a huge custom horizontal cartridge with a computer connection. I'm still bummed I didn't buy it for a few bucks when leaving Club Nintendo, we had one and nobody seemed to appreciate it. Pilotwings was one of the games. I'm not sure if it was ever even released since I can't find a single hit online for the Super NES version.

Did anyone else actually compete in the Nintendo World Championships 1990? I did. I got 3rd place in the 11-13 age bracket in Dallas. Made the Dallas Morning News! Definitely one of the coolest experiences of my life. I remember opening the booth I was squatting in front of onstage and seeing the NES inside. I lifted up the NES flap and saw one of those white-labelled carts with my own little eyes. Who knew it'd be worth $2500 all this time later.

No its not either exodus or bible stories I was aware of those but this thing poped out of nowhere as I one day I was checking out a local fea market. Its not by color dream either I have to dig it out for all the details though.

Semi OT. I was in South Lake Tahoe last week and the Elk Club there had a flea market.

For $5

A 2600 (Sunnyvale original six switch)

A 5200 and games

Three PROTOTYPE 2600 Eproms. Donkey Kong, Pac-Man and a Pool game.

Last year in Australia we had a Nintendo run competition. All across victoria they held 6 bi-weekly competitions in Village cinemas, where the top 50 from each cinema at the end of the 6 comps would go on to the finals. The finals were held in Melbourne, where everyone played off to win a trip to Nintendo America for a tour of the place. Damn it was loads of fun ^_^ I wish they would do another one, but that seems unlikely.

I should buy two copies of this game, release a video of me burning one of them, and then sale the other one on Ebay for more profits.

now, mainly the bigges

i need
bubble bath babes ......had but sold
peek a boo poker.........had but sold
hot slots
contra force
flinstones surprise at dino peak
cheetahmen 2
Bubble bobble 2, i have it but its not complete
color a dinasaur
mermaids of atlantis
trolls on treasure island
the not so rare maxi 15 , i have the rarer one with deathrace

just games i can thik of off the top of my head without looking

around 50~100 carts depending how far i want to take it. i dont think im goin to try and get all the sachen games. im mainly trying to get all the licensed nintendo games although i have all the tengen, ave, and almost ever color dreams/bunch games cart.

i shouldnt have sold the two panesian games, but a new lcd bigscreen was worth more to me than those carts

if you have any complete nes games in good shape pm a list of what you got

Nah, don't have any complete games. I was just wondering because I got a bunch of random carts that my mom brought home from a friend's place a few weeks back and I was looking to give them out to someone that wants just carts or sell it to someone for cheap. I don't have anything on that list though. Looks like these things are gonna sit in my room forever. =|

Aren't you in Minnesota Shouta? I'll take them if no one else does. I'm up in St. Paul.

Hey! I played that (I think).. I went to the Nintendo PowerFest 1990 in Universal Studios.

If I remember correctly, it was Super Mario Bros. followed by Rad Racer, followed by Tetris.
I kicked ass in Tetris and SMB but was thrown off by Rad Racer...

Damn you Rad Racer!!!

Hey, I was there! I made it through to .. hmm, the final 16 I think. I didn't have a clue how to play SSBM, if I had I would have competed against 3 others in Mario Kart, FOR THE WIN :D (sorry I had to).
