Look for the ad-free 4K plan to be $25 - $30 by the end of the year while the ad-tier takes over the $20 price point. They'll probably downgrade the bitrates again too.

They completed the xandr deal about 6 weeks (6th June), I wasn't really expecting them to pick up Netflix but that's a pretty good pickup.

Netflix can contort themselves into as many shapes as they'd like in order to inject advertisements into their videos, I already canceled their shitty service a long time ago.

Ad-ridden content certainly isn't bringing me back, but licensing quality content just might.

i honestly wouldn't mind ads but if i still need to watch at 480p then forget it. if it was 720/1080p then i'd not mind.

Netflix should change their plans to:

Free - ad supported. 720p
Basic - £8-9/month. 1080p
Premium - £11-13/month. 4K HDR

but no doubt it'll be:

Free - 480p with ads
£7/month - 480p
£11/month - 1080p
£16/month - 4k

Will ad revenue keeps them from really cracking down on password sharing? Or will it just become another concern when they try to figure out what content they will make?
 
Having thought this over some more, I think Netflix should really go hard after the Netflix and Chill meme culture with their ads. Preface every single ad with something like you have 60 seconds to screw before the show comes back. And throw in jokes about how that's 45 seconds longer than most of the audience will need.

There definitely will be but the question is the setup and the type of ads.

I have heard that one possible idea is an month exclusivity for shows to the paid plan as well. It will be interesting to see what they choose.

Why offer a free subscription when you can rise the cost of the premium subscription.

Similar to how PlayStation is doing their essential/extra/ premium.

Wherever the case I just hope the bare minimum is 1080p.
