I cancelled my subscription a month ago. I never really watched it anyway, it was mainly for the wife. Even she got sick of it and realised it was mainly trash. Neither of us miss it.

This is just a regular thing now huh?
kind of mad the ads plan going up too.
Trying to Finish Peaky Blinders, and damn new Jojo just started and they're doing the spoon drip (no whole season to binge)

Unsub since 2020 or something. Only have Prime and HBO, at least for now

Those price hikes doesn't make sense, and having a payed ad tier is a fuck you

Torrent, or wait until it's available for digital or blu-ray purchase, those are the only options I both with anymore when it comes to Netflix.

Unsubbed back when they started cracking down on password sharing. I paid to stream 4K on up to four screens, what difference does it make whether it's under one roof or geographically separated with my family members when the same amount of bandwidth is used? Greed, of course.

I do not regret my decision, at all. Fuck 'em. I will never resubscribe, doesn't matter what content they throw up. Won't pirate their content either, there's plenty of other things to do day to day.

I have too many DVD's and Blu rays. Last movie I bought was 3 months ago a french film on DVD from the 60's for 3 bucks. Netflix can't beat that. Also you get bonus features and learn how movies are made or get cool interviews of crew and cast for the film. Don't even get me started on the VCR that would scary someone at netflix or any streaming service.

What's wild is that Netflix's pricing has begun to surpass seedbox rental. A 10TB-15TB server is large enough to carry anything a family will want to watch. Scripts can be configured to automatically populate the media server with the latest episodes of shows etc. Self-hosting has also grown in attractiveness. I've helped friends set up their own NAS after they've realized that it pays itself off in a year or two after cancelling their collection of subs.

I feel like they only just increased it.

Yes, they've got some big budget hitters but you'd think that once you've raised the revenues to cover a Stranger Things series you can allocate it to other projects once it's over.

Still cheaper compared to Cable but if they keep increasing it, I expect some NBA and FIFA on there.

I'm glad to have drop the service a while ago, never missed it. Money goes to Youtube Premium and its worth the price.

Unsubscribed about two years ago. Never looked back. Streaming services sucks these days, it's not worth the asking price anymore.

Many people here that imply that they'll pirate now, shame on you. Not for the pirating, for watching Netflix slop

Has any other market increased as fast as streaming? It went up faster than gold did ffs. 250% increase in 10 years? And that's not including the higher tier.

Once it reaches 30 bucks for my 4k plan, bye bye Netflix for me… :( That was thresholds for me for the Gamepass Ultimate.

I feel kind've stuck in it because I pay for my parents as an extra member and they watch it all the time. Next time I see them I might suggest I pay for a primary account for them instead as I don't really watch it.

If everyone hit unsubscribe just for 3 days, this shit would stop. Imagine the panic seeing every sub drop. Imagine having the means of communication to do this now and we dont.

I cancelled Netflix ages ago as well.

Remember the cable TV collapse? This feels like the same thing all over again.

It's honestly ridiculous having to pay 25€ for one streaming service, 18€ for another, 10€ for a third, and 17€ for yet another, just to have the "privilege" of watching a handful of shows that are, of course, all split across different platforms...

As for Netflix, it's become one of the lowest-quality services out there, their catalog is flooded with content that feels like trash reality TV, endless true crime and mafia documentaries and movies that come off as straight-to-DVD releases, often with a heavy-handed agenda baked into everything.

Amazon Prime is somehow even worse. Disney+ doesn't interest me at all and Paramount+ only has a few worthwhile titles.

The only service I'd actually call good is HBO Max. Their content quality has consistently been strong since...forever, however, even there, the ad-supported tier is borderline absurd with how many ads it pushes...

We're in for another crash IMO and heavy...sea fairing era (yarrrrrr ).
