Looking good, im not going to complain about new content.

Just give me more anime.
How is their anime content in US?
In India, I tried to watch some but most of them were incomplete, e.g. Gintama only had half of the series, had to pirate the rest.

It's ight, I really appreciated the remaster of Evangelion though. Most series are incomplete unless it's Netflix funded.

Yeah that's the problem. There's no Crunchyroll or Funimation here too. Only original I have seen was Devilman Crybaby, it was weird and disturbing to say the least.

Seems like a case of endlesstrash.gif, they're trying to justify that price hike and distract from the recent licences they've lost, at least in the UK anyway, a lot of big shows expire next month and it's also the same time Netflix are increasing their price.

It’s a bit hard to get all that excited about Netflix original films when the quality has been so low. Has anything they’ve done been really good?

Extraction, Chris Hemsworth helmed vehicle, is a great popcorn action movie. It has one of the slickest car chase scenes around. A bit overly long but good.
Story was terrible though. Only the action and acting was good. Glad they chose some of the better actors from India as most from here would have messed it up.

Actually, that was pretty good. Forgot all about it. Some good John Wick type action and that chase was great. Villain was poor and story weak, but no worse than many other action flicks. Also props for letting Hemsworth be Australian for once.

Cleary starting to get more of Hollywood on board with actual streaming first blockbusters. They've mostly been sold projects people thought were going to flop anyways... although, a lot of this is probably that, enhanced by COVID theater closures.

They are hampered by being new to all of this and the Hollywood being married to the theater industry.

We'll see what happens post-COVID, but I expect within 5 years we'll have very few films that don't appear day and date on a streaming service.

The Babysitter 1&2 are their best original movies IMO.

I find a lot of the recent streaming content to not even qualify as disposable entertainment. It's largely boring, safe product.

I am spending more time on free platforms like Pluto TV simply because you might catch a crazy Nic Cage movie or something interesting like Zebraman on one of their cult/foreign film channels.

So what I'm saying about this announcement is:

Hate to be snarky, but got to wonder how many of them will actually be worth watching.

Still, more films to watch the better for me. It's just rare I really see a Netflix film that blows me away. I think I'm honestly looking forward to The Guilty the most with Jake Gyllenhaal. The original movie was great, and it perhaps didn't need a remake, but I mean it's Jake Gyllenhaal. It must be good.

6 Underground and Extraction were worthwhile, but they really do have a terrible track record overall.
Extraction surprised the heck out of me. Solid action flick. Not sure if you've seen Triple Frontier but I thought that was fun enough, too. Slips up towards the end, but the heist scene is great. Honestly think they do better with big budget action flicks, it's a bit harder to mess up.

I think a problem with Netflix is they go for quantity over quality. You hear 70 new films and it sounds great, but when you get down to the nitty gritty of them, they are underwhelming. I'd rather have less releases, and better quality.
