Just watched it last night. Boseman's untimely passing is a gigantic loss for the industry. What a performance. I was riveted through out what I though was going to be a pretty meh play to movie adaptation. Davis, likewise, just had me glued to the screen. In fact I didn't see an uneven performance in the entire thing, just smaller roles. I love the small scope of it, the story telling and the tension between the characters. I was fully entertained and moved.
the music was also fantastic! I ended up scouring Youtube for old blue's recordings of the era.
