The Warner Bros. division is moving forward with a follow-up to its horror hit Final Destination: Bloodlines, hiring that movie's co-writer, Lori Evans Taylor, to pen the next installment.
The hiring comes after Bloodlines, released in May, grossed over $286 million at the worldwide box office, $138.1 million of that domestically. That movie was the sixth installment of the horror franchise and the first one since 2011.
It was by far the most successful outing of the movie series, with its domestic total more than double the next movie down, 2009's The Final Destination.

They should try get some bigger names in the next one. Could become the best movie Zendaya has ever made.
Franchises like Final Destination are perfect for newcomer actors or current lower end actors with potential who need an extra push. It gives them a chance to do a good job while at the same time keeping the film low budget enough to have more creative death scenes and win with a profit in sales.

For example it was good to see Richard Harmon in a more prominent role.

Agreed. Richard was fantastic.
Have been a fan of him since The 100.
Hope he gets more movie roles after its success.

Rewatched them all last week I think they are a fun watch .
Death is a sneaky bastard, I'm always watching for pools of water following me🥵

The Final Destination series has probably saved lives, thanks to making the public paranoid lol

That most-recent one was good. I'd check out a new one for sure.

I watched the whole series in the beginning of the year and was surprised by how good they all are. It's not some kind of masterpiece cinema, but I remember being entertained by them all. The first one is of course the best one and feels like it had a lot of heart, but it's surprising to see even the latest movie be pretty good. I'd easily rewatch them all again rather than watch the Disney Star Wars trilogy.

I understand Warner Bros. wanting to capitalize on the success of this movie, but i think a large part of Bloodlines being a hit is due to the franchise being absent for more than a decade now.

I think the movie was good and fun, but in hindsight it was mostly alright. No different than previous sequels. Smile 2 is leaps and bounds better, especially because of that ending. Plus, the main actress gave a great performance.
