On Sandler - he's made some gems and some garbage. He's like the epitome of the discussion between Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in Jay and Silent Bob - just throw in the occasional movie made so his friends get a payday. This is looking like one his efforts that he actually cares about so it may be good, even great.

I mean, I too think that most of Sandler's modern comedy output is not quite to my liking. (I sat through about half of "The Ridiculous 6" which was a very, very, very bad movie). But then I saw Uncut Gems and was utterly impressed, and was reminded that this was the same guy that did an outstanding job in stuff like Punch-Drunk Love, Reign Over Me, and the Meyerowitz Stories.

I agree, he has good material and he has I'm contractually obligated to make Netflix a movie material.
