New ATI drivers are out!

I got them. No major bugfixes or performance improvements, just CCC tweaks and options to disable the more annoying bits of CCC. It even adds a few bugs here and there, I think.

CCC...?

It isn't a jump, it's just the way they number their driver versions.

The number before the dot is the year, the number after the dot is the month. 4.12 was the last version > December 2004, 5.1 is January 2005.

Catalyst Control Center, the new .NET framework control panel application that came out a few months ago.

Ah, just never heard it abbreviated I suppose. I can't say I really care for that particular add-on - seems kind of bloated and takes longer to initially load versus the older one.

I have this crazy dual (actually triple) monitor set up in my bedroom. My LCDTV via DVI-D is my primary display. Do these drivers have a 16:9 setting? I don't recall what my current drivers are, but I saw nothing in regards to wide screen aspect ratios.

Yeah, the new updated Control Center has some really improved settings for primary/secondary widescreen and HDTV (720p and 1080i) displays, theater mode and overlay options. You saw nothing about 16:9 resolutions because, well, they are pretty much a standard by now.. They are also slowly adding hydravision multi-display options to the main driver package. You may want to try it out.
