I love me some Autechre, about the only music for which I regret not hearing much beyond 18 kHz.

Can't wait. The absolute greatest IDM artist ever. Better than aphex twin, square pusher, boards of Canada, etc...

They always seem to hit for me. But certainly I understand not all of their music is for everyone.

If it wasn't $45 I'd be all on it... But I just paid nearly $70 to pre-order the new Atoms For Peace "limited edition". I feel like these special/limited/deluxe editions are getting absurd. I'd rather they just put more effort into making something creative, but in a simpler and cheaper LP cover.

You mean glitchy noise

My excitement level is dependent on which autechre I'm getting. Confield autechre would please me.

You don't think Quarstice and Oversteps delivered a bit of both?

I personally enjoy them more from an engineering standpoint so I don't mind when it goes deeply experimental while my favourite track of them remains very down to earth, fermium (untilted).

This is 4 LPs though. So the price seems pretty fair.

They never really sat with me well. they had their moments but there was a specific kind of meatiness in confield that I dug. Felt kind of like an update of tri repetae vs say lp5

It's always interesting to me how different people have such varying views of their albums.

Most seem to think Confield is their most difficult album. I'd say Oversteps is closer to Tri Repetae.

Yeah, that's where I was bucked off the horse and never got back on, in spite of their earlier stuff basically defining the 90s for me. I should probably check out their more recent stuff.

New Burial! New Autechre!

WHERE ARE YOU RICHARD???????????????????????????????????????????????????????

True enough. I think I'm going to have to wait and check it out before I pick up the LP though. I've found that these special editions are pretty easy to come by after release. Thanks for the heads up though. With this and the Burial thread glad to know there are people on GAF with great taste in music!

That package art is hot. Is it really Designer's Republic? Sure looks like it.

Made me wistful for Wipeout. Then I remembered Studio Liverpool. Then I was sad.

Just lit the umop signal.

Lol seriously. I was just thinking a week or so ago that they were due for a new release. Oversteps and Move of Ten were so good.

Autechre aren't just my favourite IDM artists, they are my favourite electronic music producers in general!

They get first place in general with me almost entirely because I can't get sick of their work, even though I listen to it so much that I should be sick of it by now.

I'm so glad they're going for longer (or regular length) tracks. The snippet style was a nice experiment but of their recent albums the ones I love are the albums where the tracks take their time to jam properly, like 'Untilted'.

yeah, it really depends on what 'type' of autechre they are for this record - it'll either be amazing or a snoozefest.

I'm quite excited. Confield is my favorite album of all time, but I'm hoping this is them rocking it out as opposed to outer space.

I don't feel like I deserve two hours of Autechre. This is too awesome. Love the longer tracks that slowly develop and morph over time.

Sorry for bumping, but hollllly crap I just came to GAF to make a thread about this as I totally missed the news a few weeks back and just heard.

MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOD. MY EXCITEMENT CANNOT BE CONTAINED!

I'm excited because I don't know what it's going to sound like.
But for that very same reason I can't get too excited.
Oh Autechre.

Arrgh, my Vinyl pre-order isn't with Bleep. Arrrrrrrghghgh.
New Autechre & MBV in one week. Is it Christmas?

Autechre fans have crashed the site. There's too many of us.

I think if you preordered via bleep you can get it from there. You can even get it from itunes.

Very positive impressions from the watmm board so far. I wont get a chance to listen until tonight.

Just got my email but Bleep apparently exploded. I need to dl this now! New Autechre releases need to be worldly celebrations.

Just about everyone on watmm saying this is by far their best album ever. It's like a compilation of everything they've done, but taken to a higher level.

Man, I want to listen to it NOW

Good lord. It's like the MBV debacle all over again! And I refuse to buy anything off Itunes. I guess I'll just F5 the shit out of Bleep.com until it's back.
