A few days ago my brother was playing Desert Combat, playing as an Iraqi he used authentic insurgent tactics, meaning he was planting roadside bombs.. When he had planted the bombs and was waiting for an enemy to pass buy, a fellow team-mate of his came by and started picking up the bombs (with the wrench), when asked why he was doing this he said "No camping" .. Wtf? DC is not counterstrike! Whether you camp or not in DC, it doesn’t matter because it does not prohibit anyone else from spawning like in CS. What a fucktard.

I've gone from loving DC to hating it, even though the final is the best version. It's just not fun to me anymore.

Don't sweat it yet shpankey. Just wait for the reviews and impressions on here. I'm seriously considering getting this game. It's freaking amazing looking. Let's hope the play is as good as the looks.

Yeah, stuff like that has pretty much put me off BF and all its mods. I keep going back to it every few months, but I just can't put up with the fact that even after the game's been out for this long, nobody seems to know how to play.

Which is the one great hope for BF2... that if the Commander thing takes off and the nimrods have a voice instucting them what to do, maybe most actually will.

I haven't really followed BF2 all that much (probably because I'm pretty sure that my increasingly-outdated computer will simply implode if I even try and install it), but what determines who can be the commander? I can see it being more of a problem if some complete idiot takes the seat, and starts issuing bad/useless orders.
 
textures look pretty avarage.. Farcry looks better than this...
My pc will easily handle it, too bad I dont want to play it.
I'll Wait for Call of Duty II.

I believe the highest ranking player on each team is offered the role of commander. If they refuse, then it is offered to the second highest, etc.
 
Look fantastic, of course this is from the same people who brought you the 2 previous Battlefield games.

Which means it will be a system hog of EPIC proportions. Besides you can only run as good as the slowest person in the battle anyway.

Why cant they make this broadband only so I dont have to turn down my settings..... sorry rant over

Actually BFV was done in Canada, while those crazy Swedes were building the technology for BF2.
 
They really need to make it so teammates can't pick up your dynamite. Enemy dynamite, sure, but nothing is more frustrating than a teammate picking up your own dynamite for no reason.
 
someone mentioned the medics with paddles in game.

i just got my computer gaming world mag in the mail today. big bf2 write up.

you *can* use the paddles as a short range attack! it specifically mentioned the playtesters coming up to a guy sniping and the medic pulled out his pads and electrocuted
the sniper to death. :lol

you know what's better than that?

sticky c-4!

if you're good at stalking skills, you can approach an enemy soldier from behind and attach c4 to his back.

watch as he runs back to regroup with a bunch of his teammates and then you hit the button-BOOM bodies everywhere!

-that's also in game. :lol

Oh shit that souds awesome! Can't wait for this.

Mike for sucide bombing all you have to do is pack up a jeep with expacks and drive it to the enemy. I don't think you will be able to attach the c4 to yourself.

I love doing that move in BF1942. The timebombs and bouncing betty's are awesome fun weapons too in BF Vietnam.

I would like to know, does Battlefield play like it's 'buggy'? , because that's what I recall when I played it. Not as smooth as let's say Countter-Strike (and Source).

Not that I will be able to drag myself away from WoW though :)

I love the way Battlefield "plays", if you're referring to movement. You can't sprint and jump like a frog like CS and most other FPS's, jumping slows you down, and people aren't superhuman fast, so the firefights are much more realistic in terms of positioning strategy.

Yeah, BF42 (haven't played BFV) is pretty rough around the edges, especially when playing online. Pretty much everything is affected by lag, so even walking around, changing camera angles, or switching weapons can end up jumpy or just plain broken. That, and there's just a lot of little things that they really could have done better that they didn't. It's still a fun game when you get a good group of people together, but it's far from polished.

Agreed with this. I am so sick of that jumping shit in most other FPS's. I am also sick of players running 30 MPH + as if they are the flash.
 
BF1942 is loads of fun. As long as you find a good server with minimal ping and no tards, you'll be okay. Despite what many people say, there are quite a few of these servers. I can recommend some great ones to you guys too.

Id love to play some of you GAFfers in BF2. Maybe even some 1942 :) See how good some of you guys are.

MAF, Queen'sOwn and I organized a game a few months back and it didn't work out very well. From what I remember Queen'sOwn is really good with planes and kicked my ass in BF Vietnam and MAF was just running around doing his own thing. And that was the only game we played.

If you want to organize a game post here. I play BF1942 everyday! :D

I also have BFVietnam so it's up to you what you wanna play.

I also play bf1942 everyday, but usually only for 30 minutes or so on weekdays. Id love to get something going on a weekend though if anyone else is interested.

I had BF:V but I traded it in b/c I was too busy with my BF1942 clan at the time.

Conquest. I also prefer the Pacific Campaign but that's really up to you.
