This game sounds like something I might enjoy 'to be part off', in a 'woah this next gen shit is crazy' sort of way, if that makes sense.
It probably won't be that, but then again I like optimism.

Hmm... Bungie hasn't done a CG trailer before. I'd rather take a real time cut scene trailer like the ones they did for the Halo games.

Can't believe MS wouldn't secure Bungie exclusive DLC as the first thing they did and squandered it to Sony. Huge mistake and its going to cost them. Probably going to be the biggest franchise early next gen after CoD.
I think that's what Sony is banking on. You know damn well Activision is going to advertise the shit out of Destiny as Activision has huge plans or it (you don't sign a high-profile developer and lock them in for 10 years if you don't have huge plans). So Sony probably thinks this will be the next big thing so securing exclusive DLC or exclusive content (Sony seem's to prefer this to time-exclusive DLC) should make PS4 the Destiny machine.
They've learned a lot from this gen. So far they have 3 big or potentially big third party franchises with exclusive content on PS4 and, I assume, co-marketing deal: Watch Dogs, Destiny, AC. The only slight problem here is that they're all cross-gen.

I must have missed this news.
The ODST reveal trailer (when it was first known as RECON) and the Halo 3 Starry Night commercial (the only thing in it that is not CG is the children). The second half of the Halo 2 theatrical trailer as well.
It is a completly new universe, and there are big fandoms for the universes themselves, not just the goddamn games. And these worlds are important for many Bungie fans, not just the games themselves. Two sides of the coin, the best games have both interesting world and good gameplay.
Bungie knows this, and since it will be quite long before the game comes out, there's not much point in showing gameplay. Instead, they seemingly focus on showing the world for people, preparing people.
If i recall correctly (based of some leaks last year), Bungie wants this game to feel like an adventure, and the world is big part of that. The game feeling right will be a big part of the experience.
Me, i can't wait.
EDIT this is my interpretation anyway, not sure if that's what Bungie thinks.
Not this year for sure. Early next year (Jan-Mar?), or for the summer perhaps?

It is Bungie. That alone creates some hype, though since Bungie is quiet, people are quiet.

I don't unfortunately remember how things where back during Halo CE, 2 and 3. For Reach... actually, i don't remember that either well (frustrating).

Why's that? It looks alright to me, tho I've definitely never been a Halo fan, this could look quite similar to it and shows potential in it's customisation. I would give it a go.

I really wish Amazon would get the PS4 version for preorder. Right now you can only be notified when available to preorder. I just can't wait.
