Noel had been as they say it 'taking the piss' about how it would be called "The Ear Has No Memory" before although it turns out to be its original rumored title. Nothing in the way of cover art yet sadly.

On May 16th 2005 Oasis return with a brand new single entitled 'Lyla'. The track is taken from the band's hugely anticipated new album entitled 'Don't Believe The Truth', which follows two weeks later on May 30th on Big Brother Recordings.

Noel Gallagher believes that 'Lyla' is a true Oasis classic. "It's The Who. 'Lyla' was specifically designed for pogoing. We wrote 66 tracks and 'Lyla' was one that we revisited late on and it's ended up on the album. I'm happy with every track on the album."

'Don't Believe The Truth' is the sixth Oasis studio album - their first since the number one multi-million selling 'Heathen Chemistry', released in 2002.

It's kind of odd that the first single is only coming out two weeks before the album. The Hindu Times was out quite a ways in advance from Heathen Chemistry as I recall.. I know I imported it but didnt seem to get the album for at least a month plus.

Aren't Noel and Liam the only original members left?

Yep. They've got Zak Starkey, recently of The Who (Ringo Starr's son), on drums now though which is pretty neat. The other members have left over the years to pursue solo stuff or have been kicked out in the case of Tony McCarroll and Alan White. Hopefully this drummer lasts.

I've heard that it might be their last cd, I hope not. Though they aren't what they used to be sadly, they were the kings back then :/

I agree. SOTSOG and HC both had 2 or 3 good songs at best.

Well Liam said fairly recently that this may be their best album yet although you can take that with a grain of salt since no artist is going to say their new album sucks :p They both seem to be very positive about it though at least and they've got a major year ahead of them as far as concerts and whatnot goes, so let's hope for the best.

Yeah but Liam always say that before a new CD comes out, remember what he said about Songbird? ;)

Anyways, hopefully this time they'll live up to the hype. I'm not asking for another Definetly Maybe because that's impossible to top imo but I'm asking for something better than their last cds.
