New DS games uncovered...

Somebody needs to step up to the plate and start delivering GOOD DS games (though Worms could be good on the DS)...

I want to buy one for Castlevania, but that alone is not enough.

I don't know how anyone could look at the DS lineup and not see some potentially great games. Castlevania, Final Fantasy (Chronicles and the other one... 3?), pretty much all of Nintendo's first party games (with the exception of Pokemon Dash) which include Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Another Code, etc. Personally, I think the DS has a pretty strong lineup of games coming out within the next year or so. And I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch, I just don't feel like looking up any right now. :) Right now the lineup is weak, of course, but it will change.

I could add Worms to that list as well, as long as they keep it 2D. That will be absolutely sweet. Worms buy +1 (or +2 if single cart multiplayer is not supported)

Oh snap! This could be a killer app!

Worms 2D + multiplayer = awesome portable game.

Snood would be good if done well. I fear that it would be too addicting for a lot of people, though.

Castlevania is my main interest and the only game I could say I REALLY want to play. I'm also quite curious about Lost in Blue...

Couldn't care less about the DS Final Fantasy games and I don't care about Mario Kart or Animal Crossing. Out of Nintendo's games, the only one that interests me (oddly enough) is that Kirby title that makes good use of the touch screen.

I think Jarrod posted a big list of DS games recently, though. If you're reading, Jarrod, I wouldn't mind seeing that again. I wouldn't be interested in buying a DS until CV, though, and by then, I'll be in Japan...so perhaps the selection will be better over there (during that time). We'll see...

I think the lineup still looks grim. Worms is great news though! More strat titles!

Red = all definate purchases for me.

I'll wait for reviews on the rest, but provided they're good I could well own most of them. Even them all.

I hope all the rumored games Jarrod posted come to fruition too.

Worms: Forts is probably based on the mobile game that's getting rave reviews [supposedly].

Unfortunately, from what I've heard, Worms Forts is a VERY different Worms game where you have to build a fort whilst battling opponents. The ground isn't even destructable!

Team 17 are making Worms 4: Mayhem at the moment, hopefully that'll get a Worms port too [2D, not 3D, although I've had plenty of fun with Worms 3D]

What's with the lack of screens for DS games?

Someone probably noticed idiots post the press kit pictures on message boards at four times the DS' resolution, many more times the physical size of the actual screens - making the lack of texture filtering all that more evident.

That or they just haven't got round to it or felt like it. Which wouldn't surprise me. An E3 blowout would be nice for most of these... but I want to see/hear something before then.

There's NFSU2 screens floating around out there. I've seen screens/video for the following games so far...

Another Code and Slime Morimori DS were confirmed for US release? When did that happen? Prospects of getting a DS +2.

Another Code was actually announced by NOA (back when it was called Another) last fall. The Square Enix games I added because they're listed on Nintendo US website as upcoming games, though only Egg Monster Hero and FFCC have been 100% confirmed.

Ouch, DS' lineup needs some big names to compete with Sony.
Comparatively, the only thing it's really missing is Rockstar stuff I'd say (GTA, Midnight Club, Max Payne, etc). Other western firms (UbiSoft, EA, THQ, Majesco, etc) have excellent DS lineups so far.

isn't it weird some of those games are $20, when normal 3rd party games are $40, budget party games are $30, what are some of these, sub-budget 3rd party pricing?

Yeah I thought so. Was following the game for quite awhile cause it looked pretty and I've practically had a love/hate relationship with Hanjuku in the past. Love the look and style, but hate because I can never play it.

Hooray now I can. Now all I want to see is Uematsu's parody character parading around with some black mage musicians :D

$29.99 is the base price, some vendors (EA, Activision) are pricing at a premium of $39.99 (and $49.99 on PSP). $19.99 would be budget software I guess, Nintendo's said from the start they're leaving DS software pricing more open than GBA was. I bet Polarium's $19.99 too when it releases.

I see that Age of Empires is on that list.. is that actually confirmed? I know it was listed on some website's release list, but I'd be very surprised if this saw the light of day.

It was on retail list... they don't just throw us rumors usually, especially in regards to western stuff.

In any case I can't believe it's coming out this fast. Hope it's, you know. Good.

Sounds like Rampart.

I dunno, VU officially announced it yesterday. Maybe you should pick a different example, like something that the retail lists didn't get right. ;)

Actually, it's Hanjuku Hero DS: Egg Monster Heroes in Japan. It is Egg Monster Heroes in the US though.

I think it's coming so fast because it probably started out as a GBA project and they reused a lot of the art/code/sprites directly.

Well the cover art only says Egg Monster Heroes, so...

I haven't actually seen a press release or even a SEC filing stating the new games, only jeuxpo and a few e-tailers
