Nintendo's Player's Choice Bundle Set to Hit Stores this Week

VANCOUVER, BC, April 11, 2005 - In celebration of the arrival of spring, Nintendo of Canada is offering gamers some of its best-selling Nintendo GameCube software free with the purchase of a Nintendo GameCube Player's Choice bundle, starting this week and running until June 30, 2005. Player's Choice games represent Nintendo's most popular Nintendo GameCube titles and are the perfect addition to any Nintendo GameCube library. The Nintendo Player's Choice bundle is available for an MRSP of $129.95 at participating retailers, while supplies last.

"Player's Choice titles such as Metroid Prime and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker represent some of Nintendo's all-time top-selling titles," said Ron Bertram, general manager, Nintendo of Canada Ltd. "Offering these games free with a Nintendo GameCube makes this the perfect opportunity for gamers who don't already have a Nintendo GameCube to pick one up and experience some of Nintendo's best titles."

Titles included in the Nintendo GameCube Player's Choice Bundle include: (Note: only one game is included in each bundle. The player is allowed to select between the following titles)

- Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour Mario fun, yet sophisticated enough for the most discriminating fan of golf simulation
- F-Zero GX Ign.com reviewed this classic, futuristic racing game as "Dazzling, - video game purists will love it, be mesmerized by it."
- Luigi's Mansion Mario's brother Luigi takes center stage in this creepy haunted house adventure
- Metroid Prime Nintendo's flagship, critically-acclaimed first person shooter
- Super Mario Sunshine- A must-play classic Mario adventure set on the tropical island of Isle Delfino
- Star Fox Adventures Gamespot.com calls this 3D space shooter, "a great action adventure game by any standard."
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker the third installment of the legendary Zelda Nintendo GameCube series
- Animal Crossing Ign.com calls this legendary, unique Nintendo simulation game "imaginative, completely addictive and one of our favourites of the year."

Now is the perfect time to snap up a copy of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in a Player's Choice bundle. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker is a critically-acclaimed Zelda classic, and a must for gamers to experience in advance of the newest Zelda title set to hit stores this fall. The new Legend of Zelda title is being billed as the most anticipated game of 2005 among gamers, and was the only video game to receive a standing ovation at last year's E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo. As part of a worldwide exclusive, Walmart stores across Canada will offer Zelda fans an unexpected treat of a limited edition Platinum Nintendo GameCube with the purchase of a The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Player's Choice bundle, while supplies last.

PC bundles..

Doesnt seem to be much of a deal ... it might be more in BC, but in Ottawa at least, a brand new Gamecube is $99.99, and any players choice game is already $29.99. In fact, the only Players Choice game that isn't $29.99 is SSBM (usually $39.99 for some reason), and its not included on the list of games to pick from :) Is there something I'm missing in that press release? A free memory card or something....?

That's what I was going to say, this isn't much a deal. But I'm pretty sure the $99 price point isn't MSRP (I think Wal-Mart helped force that price, and others followed). Am I way off base?

PC titles range between $29.99 and $39.99 depending largely on the title.

What Nintendo is saying here is that you *can* get a bundle that doesn't save you money or you can save $10 on a PC title.

The $99.99 GameCube seems gone...Future Shop is only offering the $130 PC Bundle. So really, it's not a deal at all.

Gamecubes have been $94.99 at my Walmart for a long time. So yay Nintendo, a price increase. Although it'll probably be some retarded price here like 123.86. Walmart prices are so dumb.

I'm pretty sure I seen a Gamecube with either Wind Waker or Sunshine for $99 CDN in a
Superstore flyer. The cube is really a hell of a deal, and a perfect complement system is one is not fully inclined to Nintendo games. IMO, the system can stand up on its own.

Anyone know why Mario Kart is A) hard to find and B) not a Player's Choice title? Did it sell not as well as expected?

It's closing in on 2 million copies sold.. I can't imagine them expecting a whole lot more than that. I fully expect it will finish up around 3 million though.
