Key Differences for the PC version vs 360 version

"High caliber ballistics"

In GRAW PC we developed a complete ballistics system. The objective is to make all weapons as realistic as possible, including load weight, firing dispersion, recoil impacts etc...

One of the features linked to this system is the high caliber ballistics that will allow you to fire through thin or fragile surfaces, provided that you are equipped with the proper rifle (like the M99 Sniper rifle for instance).

Combined with the use of in-game intels, this allows you to get rid of enemies who believe they are safely under cover. You’ll have to be very quick though as the intels won’t remain on screen for long."

"...During the presentation it was once again re-iterated that the PC version of the game would be more focused on tactics as it better suited the platform, but with their strategy of only presenting a majority of Xbox360 gameplay and CGI, Ubisoft made it clear which version they considered as the definitive Advanced Warfighter. Ubisoft has revealed some aspects on the differences between the PC and Xbox 360 version of the game, the main difference being that the PC version will only take place within a first-person perspective after feedback from the PC community voiced a preference to an FPS view above the console’s Over-The-Shoulder perspective. Taking in the fact that a player’s aiming accuracy is higher via a mouse, Ubi has revealed that the PC environments will also include more areas to take cover from bullets and munitions together with far more challenging enemies. The home computer version is also expected to have other advancements and tweaks to better suit the increased tactical gameplay experience."

Support for Ageia Phys X

"Would it be safe to say that since GRAW PC will support Ageia Phys X Chip that it will be using the NovodeX physics engine? (question from “ZA_Corax”)

Yes indeed GRAW PC will support the NovodeX physics engine. We will use it to improve the rendering of most explosions / physics in the game, and there will be a specific work on the key moments of the game (buildings collapsing, oil truck exploding etc…).

We are also using the Havok engine as a standard, so gamers not equipped with AGEIA chips can expect great physics too!"

predictable replies i see , console people saying it looks worse , pc people saying it looks better . to me it looks the same but in 4:3 which aint a problem , only problem for me is which version to buy , how many players online is each version?

how can you say that looks the same as the 360 version????? did you even watch the single player footage of GRAW on the 360??

youre comparing a game running in motion to still shots

motion >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> screenshots

Ok, I honestly had no intention of posting in here, and it looks perfectly fine, but, Lukkas... C'mon now. Blind a bit, are we? :lol

Looks about the same to me except it's missing that visor HUD thing the 360 version has going on. The shot in the chopper is pretty incredible with that city stretching out as far as you can see.

The MP engine is less advanced compared to SP engine.. He answered your question.. But maybe not what you wanted to hear though? yah,,,

I'm just wondering why that is so, since that's not usually the case

edit: after looking at some x360 footage, I wouldn't be surprised if it did actually look better

Yeah, they had a choice, either just downgrade the SP to MP quality, and call it a day, or actually do what they can to spruce up the SP portion, and have MP cater to what it needs to do.

They made SP pretty.

Same thing was done with Splinter Cell 2 & 3 and Return To Castle Wolfenstein. I guess it allows the teams to focus on each of the major aspects rather than both.

Damn your standards are pretty f'ing high.

I think that GRAW (360) looks better than the PC version, from what I saw at least. If that makes my standard high I'm fine with that. ;)

This is a thread about a PC game. See my edit if that makes you feel better, however.

the gist of my statement was the fact that you guys are bitching over still screenshots.

yeah, because it was these "PC gamers" who started the whole stupid argument

Maybe I should edit... but the gist of my statement was the fact that you guys are bitching over still screenshots.

gg.

Meh, I'm just happy that they are going back to the tactical roots of the series with the PC version. Hopefully they can do the same with the Rainbow Six series, although I doubt it.

I doubt it too. Rainbow Six is doomed to arcade style action y0!

The PC version should be much more realistic and less dumbed down

I'm a die hard PC gamer, and I can see the differences in graphical quality. No question. It's not major (like the difference between PC BF2 and Xbox BF:MC) but there is a slight downgrade.

But that is ok .. that is the WAY IT SHOULD BE. This is a damn next gen console we are talking about, I would hope they have better graphics. PC development is hampered by trying to meet the req's of the widest amount of players possible. I'm sure they could have made a PC game near the equivalent of the 360 version but it would have been available to about 10% of PC gamers.

----

The important thing to me is that it IS a FPS. Third person shooters seem too sluggish to me. I'll take true FPS every day of the week with a KBAM. I think it goes without saying the multiplayer option on the PC will be far superior also.

Anyone know the max players on this game for both platforms?

you cant comment. its factual information, unless of course you dont own a 360 and are a huge pc fanboy

Or prefer bigger online fights? Or M/KB?

Anyway, I'll be getting the 360 version.

Meh.. who the hell takes minimum requirement based pics?

The screens are separate from the specs, the thread title is a little misleading. I would assume Ubi have taken the pics at max settings for promotional purposes.

Xbox 360 version clearly is the version to own.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for in a GR game. I absolutely hated Ghost Recon 2, but loved Ghost Recon 1. So the PC version is my obvious first choice.

This man is full of wisdom!

I won't EVER EVER EVER touch the XBOX version with even a 6' pole. Ghost Recon 1 owned. The PC version plays like GR1 and for that, I'm glad.

its true i dont have a 360 but if i did i would still get this for pc

just like when i still got any xbox shooter for my pc when my xbox was my console of choice
