I still believe Kirby 64 to be one of the best entrants in the franchise(even surpassing the popular GBA games); would be nice to see this deliver a similarly unique experience.

Graphics need an overhaul, tough it could be a lot of fun. Looks really cute.

The first art picture makes Kirby look like an angry pink fart with shoes :lol

Kirby 64 was awful? It's one of the few Kirby games that puts strong emphasis on environmental obstacles and progression flow in it's level design over haphazardly placed blocks and sequentially redundant door warps. Bottom-line it WAS a platformer, and a pretty decent one too.

Release date?

Still TBA. This is the only information so far:

Developed by HAL Laboratory Inc.

Kirby's first full-scale action game for Nintendo GameCube arrives with a variety of modes, including a wild multiplayer adventure. The story begins when Kirby sets out to get the stolen Warpstar back from King Dedede. It's tough going for Kirby when he's on his own...so it's a good thing he can catch a ride on the backs of his helpers. Utilizing a new attack system, Kirby can gain power by riding on up to three helpers. The more helpers, the more powerful the attack. It's up to Kirby to save the beautiful world of Dream Land.

This looks surprisingly nice. The animation seems pretty fluid, which works for me. I care more about that than graphic detail. I would love for this to arrive this year, but that isn't anywhere near likely.

Pretty nice. 2D lives... in 2.5D!

Is it really four player co-op?

This and NuMario are both amazingly reminiscent of SSBM's Adventure mode, though.

Doesn't look as fun or artistically impressive as Klonoa 2, but considering the lack of 2(.5)D platformers these days, I'll take what I can get.
