even though GAF will disagree I'd prefer that power going to stuff we'll actually see most of the time while playing.

Maybe because you wish 2ksports will do something and bring out a new football game.

I wish someone would do something, do anyone know when the deal is up or more like joke?
 
Yeah, I'm sure a next-gen NFL 2K would look better. It would also have a couple beyond game breaking balance issues that would make me not care about the graphics.
 
Based on that first pic, it looks like 'zombie eyes' may finally be a thing of the past.

Anyone who's smart will agree with you. I already know the game will look great. Right now I need to see the animations. They claim (a huge claim) that there are 3x as many animations as Xbox 1 madden. I refuse to get more excited until I see videos.
 
The shadows aren't pronounced enough where their feet touch the ground. I don't care how nice the helmets or the eyes are, that little thing kills any sense of a realistic looking scene.

people are always ready to pounce on EA and madden. i guess that's what happens when you are on top, everyone wants to pull you down.

if you look at those screenshots and say they are unimpressive you either A) aren't a football fan or B) have some hatred for EA/madden/tiburon.

over/under posts until someone posts the bullcrap NFL2k5 pic of tomlinson in replay mode.

Looking great, although I still think the WR's and RB's could be thinner. Hopefully the animations come through.
 
I was already impressed with Tiburon's other batch of screens, now I want to see it animate. IGN's latest preview speaks highly of the animation (although it's locked at 30fps) so here's hoping.
 
I'm sure this has been brought up but I might of missed it soooo...

Has EA given any reason why Fifa has great looking grass on the field and they canned it for Madden? The stadiums, helmets, and lighting do look excellent though.
 
The player models in fifa are pants. Madden has better everything else, fifa looks like it has had a quick face lift, where as they said they built madden from the ground up. Bring on pro evo next gen. :)

:lol :lol Madden 98 was one of the best in the series, no doubt about that. But lets get real now, i aint a madden fan, but those screen shots looks great, they look next generation, but they dont look groundbreaking.
 
Gonna rent this sucka first...im not sold on those player moves...also depend how bad i beat FMt online.

Hey, I think these shots look great (night time snow shot especially), but you have to admit EA isn't known for pulling off great visuals. That's the bed they made for years now, so maybe people just aren't willing to give them props so easily. And it isn't about them being "on top" since there is no second place anymore. Or 3rd. Or 4th. Take a long, hard, look at the back and forth going on between NBA Live 360 and NBA 2K6 360 right now and tell me that isn't the way things are meant to be.
 
I want a 360 and this so bad.. if I only I could afford it (well I can, but I refuse to spend that much money). :(
 
These shots DO look like ass. It is really easy to see why too. I dont give a shit about how detailed the helmets are, one of the biggest parts of a football game is the FIELD. Last time I checked, the field looks AWFUL. Fucking put some grass in there, or at least a bump-mapped texture or SOMETHING to make it look decent.

i wasn't talking about madden being on top. there is no 2nd place anymore, but that is all there ever was for anyone else against madden. it has pretty much gone wire to wire as the #1 selling football game each year, despite other games being anywhere from $10 cheaper (gameday), to less than half the price (nfl 2k5), madden still outsold them by a wide margin (except madden 98 vs gameday 98 :D )

and you act as if i'm THRILLED or happy that EA has the exclusive license. exclusive licensing sucks for everyone. exclusive licensing is the reason that i can no longer play an MLB version of the best baseball game ever made. i've said all along that i am happy EA got the NFL license as opposed to VC/Take 2 getting it. but i would prefer everyone make nfl games.

p.s. and live 360 vs. 2k6 360 is a great example of why i have always had a hard time trusting VC press shots. they show all these great up-close replay shots, then you get the game and it doesn't look so hot from gameplay perspectives. maybe that's just me though

I think they both are going to be so close when all is said and done that it will come down to transition animations. Whoever nails it will have the edge, visually at least. And yeah, it sucks about the MLB license--I used to buy both since I love hitting and fielding more in MVP.
 
Ya the Live 360 and 2k6 360 NBA battle is one of the more impressive graphical battles between to upcoming games I can remember. The two are very close in graphics... although I give a slight edge to Live because we've seen true gameplay of it.

Isn't that graphics talk actually mostly redundant ? I never played a football game much, but don't you play it from a top-down perspective ?
