So, I'm really hoping that one of two things happens:
1. the release date is earlier than expected
2. Or the release date is some months out, hopefully not in September or October but hopefully in June or May.

Yeah, The Phantom Pain starts in 1984 and Metal Gear MSX takes place in 1995 (I think). The game may take place over a long period of time though, or maybe there'll just be a big time jump at some point.
Yes. Frank Jaeger was active since the 60s I think, and I believe he served under Big Boss in the 80s.

Yep. If I understand the timeline correctly, Les Enfant Terribles has already happened, and the Triplets should already be well into age (Like 10 IIRC)

Yeah I am curious how cloning is handled in the MGS universe.
In other fictional properties, the clones often "grow" at a rapid rate to their source's age.
Ie. In Alien Resurrection (forget how terrible the movie is), Ripley is cloned basically almost immediately to an adult.

if this was a konami announcement, i would believe it, but seeing it's so specific to the MGSV clock, i dont think it's that.
used this for a good time, but the Life is Strange hype made me change to a max avatar. This announcement awoke the Punished Devin and made my hype go into HYPERDRIVE!

They're technically not triplets. Solid and Liquid are twins (who were once octuplets until the other brothers were sacrificed) but Solidus wasn't one of the octuplets, instead he was created afterwards from a different batch as far as I understand. Naomi has a line in MGS4 where she tells Old Snake that neither him nor Liquid are an exact copy of Big Boss, and she says "which is why they created Solidus." And Eva never refers to giving birth to Solidus either, she only refers to Solid and Liquid in her speech.
It's weird because you'd think Liquid's line about the octuplets was specifically planted for the twist that there was a third survivor, but apparently it's not the case and Solidus is altogether different. What's also interesting is at the end of Ground Zeroes it specifically tells you in the ending timeline that Les Enfant Terribles was abandoned in 1976 (a year after Big Boss went into the coma) whereas we've only known that it started in 1972 for quite some time.
So Solid and Liquid are 12 years old in TPP and somewhere in between 1972 and 1976 Solidus was born making him oddly the youngest, even though he looks the oldest.

The 3 clones in MGS all suffer from accelerated aging. It's why Solidus appears older than Liquid and Solid. Even though he's younger.

although i'm not on the "hayter was always terrible" boat, i totally agree. The GZ intro gave a bad impression, but the ending and all subsequent trailers showed that he was an amazing choice. The Quiet Scene really shows the difference.

After trying out Ground Zeros, I prefer Sutherland over Hayter. JackBauerSnakeBoss is the future. You would all do well to embrace this.

I just hope he talks a lot. This is my only concern with the Sutherland. Otherwise I'm completely fine with it.
