Anyone remember APEX. Gorgeous game ruined by inept AI and handling so while it's nice that the game is coming along I need to wait to hear actual gameplay impressions.

You should check out some of the E3 hands-on impressions. They were very positive in this regard, even at that stage, so signs are good.
 
Smuggler's Run was basically one track
of land
as well. Wouldn't mind that kind of approach to Motorstorm, but they've already indicated there'd be 12 tracks in the final version.

I guess that would make you a bit funny then, I don't think it would make me funny though.

But we are all different, nothing wrong about that. Some people become funny because of racing games and some not, it's OK. :lol

What I would love too see in this game, is weather. A serious wind that creates a dust bowl, that reduces visibilty, on what carnage. A swirling wind tunnel that lifts vehicles up and spin it around in its vortex, and crashing back down to earth. Making you lose precious time and using it as a strategy of forcing vehicles in the vortex.

A great race at dusk in the a downpour of rain causing a little puddle to become a pond and creating splashes that blind other drivers. The occassional random lighting that rips cars apart.

Again, why are people lowering their expectations based on launch games? Should I repost a sample of PS2 launch games?
 
Solid improvement, games really coming along. I wonder if all these Sony first parties were saying before E3 "well this looks good enough" then after E3 they've all put on a mad rush to improve graphics

For a lot of people, Killzone CG was the bar they thought next-gen would achieve. At best its going to be an approximation in cutscenes and nowhere close in actual gameplay (which the KZ video was meant to be).

I'm also thinking this will miss launch (along with Warhawk). Personally, I don't think I'll see a real reason to buy a PS3 until at least six months later on. I'd rather they take their time anyways. I have other consoles to play too.


Oh, and the ban for the PSP comment seems silly. I'd be more for banning the people who feel to need to argue against stupid comments like that. If people just ignored the original post to begin with, then nothing would happen and the poster would go fap somewhere else. Just my opinion though.

Those screens look alright, certainly not overwhelming or beyond what 360 was doing at launch (though that system doesn't really have any rally games to make a straight comparison with. And while we're on the subject, how completely immoral was it that EA bought DICE and snuffed the Rallisport series? Shouldn't there be some kind of UN tribunal for this sort of thing? Milosevic is dead, so surely they must have the time now. Summon Larry Probst to the Hague!). Anyway, I hope it plays well, but I must admit I'm getting kind of a Cruisin' USA vibe off this.

Yeah it had a little segment on the 'games' of the launch (saying something like "PS3 is expensive enough as it is, but many people forget that you also need something to play which will cost you even more money.")

It went over Lair, Warhawk, Half-Life 2 Pack and Heavenly Sword.

In the Warhawk blurb, it said something "shame this game won't be there for the launch."

devtools of ps2 launch games were badical.
ps3 not so iirc + good old nvidia gpu. make graphics an easier task.
 
This game has always looked bad in screens. Even some of the E3 2005 stuiff looked weak, though much sharper than these. The blur just makes it near-impossible to see the details in this game. But anyone who's seen the videos knows how good this game looks in motion. There wasn't anything wrong with the looks of the textures or car models in the E3 demo/videos. The problem I saw then, and still kinda see here is the mud/dust trails. These look better in that they look like there's actually lighting on the mud, but I can't really tell from the blur. Definitely one to see in motion. Hopefully a new 720p trailer or something. Better than more vasoline-filtered pics. PEACE.

Edit: Okay now it's on. Animated gifs of future videos coming from me in the future.
