I've been jamming the new Ween, "Shinola," and I must say its pretty awesome.

Also:

The Red Sparowes
dEUS
LN (one of the most amazing bands I've ever heard)
Feist
Laura Veirs
Love Spirals downwards (I've been obsessed with shoegaze lately)
Ephemera
Fine China
Kid Dakota
Ultra Vivid Scene
Troubled Hubble
Seascapes of the Interior

maybe some hiphop.... i could go for some altrock, too. whoever recommended the Doves in the last one of these threads was dead on, too.

The last few days I've been listening mostly to:

Coheed & Cambria - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness

And then a little:

Coheed and Cambria - The Second Stage Turbine Blade
Coheed and Cambria - In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3
The Blood Brothers - Burn, Piano Island, Burn!
The Blood Brothers - Crimes
Underoath - They're Only Chasing Safety
Death From Above 1979 - You're a Woman, I'm a Machine
Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning

Don't like hiphop/rap... Unless you have never heard of Dr. Octagon/Dr. Doom (Kool Keith). That's the only hiphop/rap/whatever I have ever liked.

You'll enjoy what I posted, then. It's pretty hip-hop.

The new Paul McCartney album, Chaos and Creation in the Backyard, is FANTASTIC--by far his best work in decades.

Oh man, there's a new Nada Surf album out? I just got into Let Go, and that's a great album.

I'd suggest the Unicorns. "Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone" is definitely my favorite album in a long time. And Sufjan, as suggested earlier, is always solid. And I'm still loving on the Decemberists - I can't help but love a band that sings songs about pirates, legionnaires, prostitutes, spies, and young gay hookers and manage to RULE while doing so.
