Nintendo's remodeling their Pokemon Center in Rockefeller Center to become a catch-all Nintendo store featuring all their latest products. Sounds like a US version of the Nintendo GameFront at the Panasonic Center in Tokyo.

Nintendo needs to make these stores a chain. Really. Like the Hot Topic of the gaming world, but without the suck.

I doubt we'd ever see more than a very few of these stores in cities like NYC, LA, and SanFran. Even cities like Chicago, Miami, and Austin aren't big enough.

If they expand out into smaller stores like Apple, I'd imagine there would be one in every major/almost-major city.

How is Chicago not big enough? It's four times the size of San Fransico!

I could also see them opening up a store in the Mall of America, if they did move beyond New York.

I'm also a couple of blocks away from some large Sony store, and also haven't been in it. I do remember their huge-ass Spiderman 2 displays though, back in the day.

Spider-man 2 came out last year. I think that's well below the minimum time frame to be considered "back in the day".

That's really cool. I've always thought eventually they'd do this once the Pokemon crazy died down a bit.

Sony stores are geared towards their electronics more than anything. Its like everyhting melds together. All Sony stuff. Games on Sony TV, Spiderman dvd running etc. Posters. etc.

Actually, official Sony Centres in the UK carry no PlayStation products whatsoever.
Consumer electronics only.

I wonder how much they pay an hr, I also wonder how goofy the suite will look.
I'm moving to Brooklyn in a few months this sounds like an alright part-time job.
