no, thats not what i meant either. i just think perfect dark zero is like a cheesy action movie. a cartoon action series. its not realistic, its not serious, and its not trying to be. its aimed at a different market then GAF i suppose.

i dunn. as long as the game is fun, and it has that rare presentation polish, its going to be a classic game in my book.

basically, i think a 10 year old would think pd0 is the greatest thing on earth.

me, i'll (hopefully) enjoy it for being a great game, with a completely solid and well polished universe behind it. even if i'm not a huge fan of its style.

I don't think that's what Op Ivy means. He believes Microsoft/Rare are in tune with what gamers find annoying. And that's what they're poking fun at. If true, much respect. If not, things are much worse than I imagine.

Yea, I know what he meant. I was trying to make his argument look stupid by saying MS knows what is cool when it really isn't (kind of like the MTV thing). I don't think they are intentionally making it this cheesy, it's just sort of coming out that way.

I think the visuals look pretty solid. It won't be a showcase, but it's definately above this gen by a good margin.

Visuals aside - every gameplay clip I've seen looked fantastic. Great level design, weapon effects and animation. The game just looks fun, and the graphics look really good (as opposed to truly awesome). I can live with that.

Oh, and the Live co-op sounds really amazing. Can't wait.

I think it looks pretty good actually. Solid gameplay, somewhat cheesy cutscenes, but an excellent experience overall. I know I'm sold. I think I can even get away with playing this co-op with my seven year old without the wife throwing a fit.

She sounds french or something, though in all the trailers I've seen. Not British by any stretch of the imagination.

I somewhat agree, but Perfect Dark is getting hype because of the name. Nothing more. They know this is the game that will make people go "oh, well maybe I should get a 360."

i doubt the name will really bring in many casuals. Didn't the 1st Perfect Dark barely creep its way to 1 million copies sold? This was hot off the heels (though admittedly with a few delays inbetween) of Goldeneye which sold like 8 million carts. Now 7 years later i doubt the name carries any mainstream weight.
